Post Malone has a wide variety of talent. Even though he is a rapper, he is so much more than that. Most of his songs tap into his vulnerable side and he is not afraid to get emotional on stage. You can really see his raw emotions when he performs, which sets him apart from all the other rappers in the game. Not only has he put out his incredible album, Stoney in 2016 but he covers a lot of famous songs.

Check out my review on Stoney here

Nirvana “All Apologies”:

He is no Kurt Cobain but he puts a great spin on it. He has the vocal talent to pull this song off. I couldn’t see any other singer in the game right now doing an impressive cover of one of the greatest bands of all time. Post is truly a rockstar.

Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right”:

This was covered in 2013, and it helped him gain more popularity to start up his fanbase. The soulful cover evokes emotions that shows how versatile he is.

Bon Jovi – “Wanted Dead or Alive”:

This one is lower quality, but his voice isn’t. I’m so thankful for Instagram live after this.

Green Day – “Basket Case”:

It is almost crazy how well Post Malone covers a punk song. He should really release more of a punk album to show off his talent. He could really be the start of reviving the genre. Also, I love the sparkly guitar.

Kanye West – “Heartless”:

Here Post covers one of the greatest love songs of all time, “Heartless.” He gives it a more emotional feel and the acoustic works well to rework the song.

Overall we should thank Post Malone for blessing us with his covers to these songs. He really does a good job that putting his own spin on the song while remaining true to the central message. The best part about Post is that he doesn’t shy away from being vulnerable on stage. He brings so much to these songs and they are respectable covers. Hopefully, he continues to put out more so we can be reminded of just how interesting it is to listen to a different version of a classic.
