Britney Spears never misses a chance to use her platform for good. All eyes are on the Team USA at the Winter Olympics. The Olympics only happens every four years, so it is a big event for the entire world. The USA is kicking ass and taking names, but some of the team members are experiencing some hate due to their sexual orientation. It is crazy how someone could work their whole lives to get into the Olympics to win countless gold medals just to be called, “gay.” These athletes are so much more than that and deserve to be respected as such.
Britney Spears, the queen of pop, wasn’t going to let this disrespect go unnoticed. Britney has always supported the gay community and isn’t going to let anyone get them down.
She tweeted words of encouragement to ice skater Adam Rippon and skier Gus Kenworthy. Kenworthy is proud of his sexuality and he showed that by posting a spread of photos with Rippon on Twitter with the caption “We’re here. We’re queer. Get used to it.” That certainly showed them. But what else is better than getting Briney freaken’ Spears to support you?

Here are their starstruck replies:
I could feel you on the ice with me @britneyspears. I now have an OVERWHELMING desire to post Instagram fashion shows, google stock imagines of corn, and paint on the balcony of my dorm in the Olympic village. Thank you for not being in denial, LOVE YOU ❤️❤️❤️ https://t.co/CfeyGNecM3

Oh. My. God. Was really not prepared to wake up to this. Not sure how I'm gonna ski today because I'm LITERALLY dead now but I'm gonna go that extra mile for you, Britney! Ilysm!!! 😭❤️ https://t.co/yhoEJq1qRL

It’s 2018 people wake up! Homophobia is an ugly thing and one shouldn’t be judged based on who they chose to sleep with. These athletes have just accomplished more than anything the average person will ever do in their life, so start respecting them as such. They might just take those skis and skates to your neck and Britney will be there to laugh at you.
