2018 has been quite the year for Awkwafina. After building a following through her comedic rapping, she was cast as part of “Ocean’s 8’s” ensemble, as well as in “Crazy Rich Asians.” She’s been on the talk show circuit, done countless interviews and now, she’s heading to Comedy Central.’

The cable network has picked up a half-hour scripted series, written by and starring the Asian American comedian.  According to The Wrap, the show sounds like it’ll be part-autobiographical, as it will center on an Asian twenty-something living in Queens with show business aspirations.
