According to the Hollywood Reporter, actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin are two of 40 names listed as participants in an illegal college acceptance scam. The investigation had over 200 FBI agents working on the case named “Operation Varsity Blues.”

The scheme alleges that millions of dollars in bribes were paid in order to get under qualified kids into elite schools. The schools in question are Yale, USC, Georgetown, and Stanford.

Lori Loughlin is accused of paying $500,000 to have both of her daughters listed has crew recruits, when– in fact– neither of the daughters rowed at all. The ploy was made in order to get both children into USC. Loughlin and her husband face charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest service mail fraud.

Felicity Huffman is accused of masking $15,000 in charitable donations in order to have her daughters SAT scores enhanced. It is alleged that her daughter took the exam in a controlled environment where the proctor would correct her answers after she had completed the test. The FBI has phone conversations and emails on file to confirm the accusations.

In one of the more bizarre headlines to come out in recent memory, the two actresses have been the subject of jokes and criticism on social media.


The indictment proceedings will be held later this afternoon.
