NBA Youngboy is currently in prison for violating the terms of his probation. The violation is related to an assassination attempt that occurred earlier in May. According to Vibe, the incident took place near Trump International Airport in South Florida. As NBA Youngboy and his crew were on their way to the Rolling Loud Festival, somebody in a black Cadillac starting shooting at them. As the bodyguards returned fire, a stray bullet hit and killed a bystander named Mohamad Jradi, who had just left a shift as a Hertz rental car employee.

While NBA Youngboy currently sits in a Louisiana jail, he finally broke his silence about the unfortunate killing. James Manasseh, his attorney, spoke to Miami Herald: “He told me, ‘I wish they would have gotten me, not him.'” The rapper is grieving, given that his girlfriend, Kay Marie, was also injured in the event, but not fatally.

Originally, the police chose not to charge NBA and his team because they were acting in self defense. However, the incident in some way violated the terms of Youngboy’s recent probation, so police chose to detain him. He will stay in jail until a judge officially decides whether or not the probation was in fact violated.
