Football fans gather on Sunday, February 2, to watch the biggest NFL event of the year, Superbowl LIV. Taking place under the Florida sky, in the Hard Rock Stadium, located in Miami Gardens. While most fans wait in anticipation to watch the San Francisco 49ers go up against the Kansas City Chiefs. If you aren’t the biggest football fan, there is one thing that is almost guaranteed to bring everyone together, the Halftime Show.

Throughout the history of the event, the Halftime Show has become one of the biggest events to look forward to, from Katy Perry’s meme-worthy act during the Superbowl XLIX Halftime Show to Beyonce and Bruno Mars‘ amazing performance in Superbowl 50. Superbowl LIV is set to bring another powerhouse performance with the announcement of Jennifer Lopez and Shakira taking the stage.

Jennifer Lopez aka J.LO has gained a larger spotlight as of late after her performance in the movie Hustlers, having the international star perform is a no-brainer. During the press conference Jennifer Lopez stated her excitement, “Ever since I saw Diana Ross fly off into the sky at the Halftime Show, I dreamed of performing at the Super Bowl,” said Lopez. “And now it’s made even more special not only because it’s the NFL’s 100th season, but also because I am performing with a fellow Latina. I can’t wait to show what us girls can do on the world’s biggest stage.” In case you never heard of Jennifer Lopez, she is a worldwide star who has sold over 75 million records and has a cumulative worldwide box-office gross of over $3 billion. She is a fashion icon, artist, singer, and now she will tear up the stage alongside Shakira.

Set to perform alongside J.LO is Shakira another international sensation whose popularity has earned her major stardom along with multiple GRAMMY wins. Shakira sold over 75 million records worldwide becoming one of the biggest performers of all time. Shakira is no stranger to having one of her songs feature on a worldwide stage, with her hit single, “Waka Waka (Time for Africa)” becoming one of the theme songs for the 2010 World Cup. However, during the press conference she still recognizes the importance of sharing the stage with her fellow Latina performer, “I’m so honored to be taking on one of the world’s biggest stages in the company of a fellow female artist to represent Latinos and Latinas from the U.S. and all over the world — and to top it off, on my birthday!” said Shakira. “This is a true American dream and we are going to bring the show of a lifetime!” Shakira’s last album “El Dorado” charted #1 on iTunes in 37 Countries, won Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2017 Latin GRAMMY Awards, and Best Latin Pop Album at the 2018 GRAMMY Awards.

Superbowl LIV is set to premiere on Sunday, February 2, 2020. Air time 6:30 p.m ET, the game will be broadcasted on Fox.
