via New York Times — Conor McGregor, the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s biggest star and one of the world’s highest-paid athletes, is under investigation in Ireland after a woman accused him of sexual assault in December, according to four people familiar with the investigation.
McGregor has not been charged with a crime. Following the usual protocol in criminal investigations in Ireland and much of Europe, where a formal charge does not necessarily follow an arrest, McGregor was arrested in January, questioned by law enforcement authorities and released pending further investigation, according to the people.
Conor McGregor has been all around the news over the past week, and especially over the last 24 hours. After making an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night and talking about his interest in fighting again, he tweeted out a retirement post, hours after his segment aired.
McGregor now finds himself in hot water with the law again, this time being accused of sexual assault. The New York Times is reporting that McGregor was arrested in January and released pending further investigation. McGregor is currently not guilty of any crime, just accused, but the claim is still being handled by Irish authorities.
The woman is accusing McGregor of sexual assault at the Beacon Hotel, an establishment located in Dublin. McGregor was last at the hotel back in December. The police in charge of investigating the case have recovered evidence from the room McGregor was a guest in and received closed circuit footage from the hotel.
The UFC star is no stranger to run-ins with the law, with his latest arrest happening just two weeks ago in Miami, when he was taken in for smashing a mans cell phone. This current accusation could be damning to the reputation and career of McGregor if found guilty.
The case is ongoing and we will provide updates accordingly. Follow us @SloppyVinyl on Twitter and Instagram to stay up to date on all our content.
XXL has opened up the voting for the tenth spot on this years freshman class. The voting started yesterday and will end next Monday at midnight. Some of the artists that are in the running for the coveted last spot in include: Blueface, Bhad Bhabie, Flipp Dinero, Gunna, Juice Wrld, Matt Ox, Rico Nasty, Sheck Wes, and a plethora of other names.
The voting can be done through the website that you can find by clicking here, or by using the official hashtag on social media with #XXLFreshman. The tenth spot vote is a relatively new addition to the list, with past winners including Iggy Azalea, Lil Yachty, and XXXTentacion.
After giving the list a quick glance, I would say the betting favorite right now has to be Juice Wrld. No one off that list had more success than Juice last year. He had two monster hits with “Lucid Dreams” and “All Girls Are The Same,” and dropped his second studio album earlier this month.
The sleeper in the group is Blueface. He’s currently sitting in the top 50 on Spotify with the no-so-catchy, yet somehow extremely catchy hit “Thotiana.” His music makes zero sense from a practical perspective, off beat, sloppy production, but the man somehow pulls it off.
Who do you think is going to the coveted final spot? Let us know on social media @SloppyVinyl and leave a comment below.
In a series of Instagram posts, Big Sean revealed to his fans that last year he had struggles with anxiety and depression. The Detroit rapper spoke how he felt lost around his 30th birthday and is now improving after working with a therapist.
Big Sean talked about how he had been using meditation in the past to deal with his depression and anxiety, but felt the results were no longer working. He talked about how he needed to nurture his relationships with himself and the people he loves, like his mother.
He spoke candidly about his struggles throughout the three IG videos and seems to be doing better now. It’s pretty refreshing to see someone as big and popular as Big Sean to speak openly about his mental health. It may not seem like a big deal, but it’s nice to see public figures show human emotion and talk honestly with the fans.
Big Sean’s last album was released in February of 2017. The rapper celebrated his 31st birthday yesterday, in better spirits than his last.
