In one of the weirdest stories of the year so far, Jussie Smollett’s lawyers confirm that all criminal charges have been dropped against the actor.
The “Empire” star was being accused of staging a hate crime in order to increase sympathy to receive a pay raise. He was indicted on 16 counts of filing false police report, but had his record wiped clean earlier today.
In the alleged scheme, Smollett was accused of sending himself a fake letter that threatened his life and then proceeding to hire two “Empire” actors to stage the crime. Smollett reported to the police that he was attacked by two men who beat him, poured bleach on him, and tied a noose around his neck. He also stated that the two men shouted “This is MAGA country!” before fleeing the scene of the crime.
It’s unclear what evidence was found to exonerate Smollett from the charges, but the Cook County State’s Attorney Office released a statement today saying, “After reviewing all of the facts and circumstances of the case, including Mr. Smollett’s volunteer service in the community and agreement to forfeit his bond to the City of Chicago, we believe this outcome is a just disposition and appropriate resolution to this case.”
The Chicago P.D. has not released a statement at this time regarding the case. Smollett told the media after the case “I have been truthful and consistent at on every single level since day one.”
The fallout from the case should be ongoing throughout the day and rest of the week and we will update accordingly.

Nardwuar is back, the living legend of rap interviews taking on LA rapper Blueface. You can clearly tell right off the jump that Blueface has zero clue who this man is, and why he is acting the way he does. It’s a rare interview where the rapper throws Nardwuar a bit off his game by messing with the flow of the questions.
A Nardwuar interview can go one of two ways. One, he can drop crazy information that it forces the artist to literally walk out of the interview or we get something like Blueface, where it looks like he has no clue where he is and what is happening.
This one wasn’t one the best interviews, but if you’re a Blueface stan you need to check it out. If you want other Nardwuar recommendations, I highly suggest the Lil Uzi interview, it’s an all time classic.
Not much else to say here other than March Madness is back, so what better time to bump “March Madness” by Future through our speakers than now. Future, whether he knew it or not, created the definitive anthem for the college basketball tournament.
Not only is the song a classic, but it’s also a song that is a good barometer to tell when spring has sprung. The first time you hear the boom of the bass you instantly know that it has to be March. It’s Christmas music for spring, it can only be played at this time.
So fill out your brackets, watch your picks lose, and listen to Future. Those are the only three things you are obliged to do when March Madness rolls around. In the words of Jon Rothstein: “We sleep in May.”

Last night, rapper ScHoolboy Q appeared on Jimmy Fallon to perform music from his forthcoming album. His performance was a medley of songs, including his already released single “Numb Numb Juice,” as well as a new song titled “Chopstix”, which features Travis Scott.
Travis was not present for the performance despite the song centralizing around his hook. It’s a classic Travis feature, an autotune refrain over a mellow beat, with a ScHoolboy verse in between. There isn’t a full length version of the song yet, so for now we only have a small snippet from this performance.
ScHoolboy announced at the end of the performance that his album is coming “very, very soon.” No date or title for the album has been leaked or announced so keep your eyes peeled for this new project.

ScHoolboy Q is set to be the musical guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon tomorrow. The other guests on the show will be actor Armie Hammer, and actor Jemaine Clement. According to the NBC website, ScHoolboy will be performing with The Roots.
No word just yet on what song will be performed though the safe bet would be ScHoolboy’s new single “Numb Numb Juice.” The song dropped late last week and came with a music video that featured Tyler The Creator and Ma$e. The song currently sits at number 27 on the Spotify top 50 chart and has over six million streams.
This performance marks the continued press leading up to his fifth studio album release. There currently isn’t any information out regarding it’s title or release date.
