[Music] Nardwuar Interview with J.I.D

Nothing better than a little Nardwuar interview to get you through the day. This guy is either God or the police, maybe he’s both considering all the stuff that he pulls up on these guys. He belongs in the internet hall of fame just based off some of the reactions he gets from his interviews.

If you’ve never seen a Nardwuar interview– if you haven’t, what have you been doing with your life– this is the perfect place to start. He’s pulling up stuff on J.I.D that is insanity, only a stalker should know as much as Nardwuar.

Nardwuar is probably the weirdest guy of all time, but that’s the best part of the whole interview experience. He pulls receipts from the most obscure parts of these guys’ past and gives them zero explanation.

If you have the time, I beg you to go down the vault of The Human Serviette, it will not disappoint.

[Music] J Cole Announces Dreamville Festival Date and Lineup

Tickets for J Cole’s inaugural Dreamville Festival have officially gone on sale. The festival had previously been scheduled for last September, but due to Hurricane Florence, the show had to be postponed.

The setlist has got some big names on it, with headliners including SZA, Big Sean, 6lack, 21 Savage, and, of course, J. Cole. In the same vein as Pharrell’s Virginia Beach music festival, the Dreamville show is paying homage to the people of J. Cole’s community, and giving local fans a chance to get out and see a big show.

Seeing J. Cole do something like this for his current hometown and is always really cool to see. He’s consistently showing his loyalty to his fanbase will gestures like this, time and time again. Whether you like his music or not, you have to give the man credit when he does stuff like this.

[Sports] Mike Trout Signs Monster Extension with Angels

[Sports] Mike Trout Signs Monster Extension with Angels

According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, all-star centerfielder Mike Trout has agreed to a record-breaking contract extension with the Los Angeles Angels for 12 years, worth $430 million. The contract has no opts out and will insure that Trout ride out his peak years and then some with LA.

The new contract will blow Bryce Harper’s record deal out of the water. Harper signed a 13 year, $330 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies just a few weeks ago. Harper had made some comments over the past few weeks, where he persisted that he would try and recruit Trout to join the Phillies. With Trout’s extension, Harper will have to look elsewhere to recruit talent.

Trout is the best player in the league, and potentially will go down as one of the best players in the history of the game. This contract, on top of the money Trout has already made, will put his career earnings just over half a billion dollars. While the appeal of coming back to the east coast and moving closer to his hometown in Millville, NJ was certainly on the table, all of that money is too hard to pass up.

The two time MVP has yet to win a playoff game with LA will now have 12 more years to try to win in October.

[Music] NEW VIDEO: Lil Skies- Stop The Madness feat. Gunna

[Music] NEW VIDEO: Lil Skies- Stop The Madness feat. Gunna

Lil Skies dropped a new video for his song “Stop The Madness” fresh off his new record Shelby. The song features Gunna, who also makes an appearance in the video that dropped this morning.

The video reps an all white aesthetic, that seems to take place in that’s most likely a psych ward. On this track, Skies sticks to the central themes of other Soundcloud rappers before him, rapping about his ascent into the industry, the fake people around him and flexing his money.

Personally it’s not my cup of tea as far as music goes. I do think the Gunna feature makes the song less stale and brings a bit more live to the song on the back end, it’s just a daunting task to listen to a sound that isn’t all that original in the current culture. Everything seems too cookie cutter, including the video.

What do you guys think? Am I wrong here? Let me know what you thought of the video and Lil Skies by leaving a comment below. Also, be sure to follow us on Twitter and IG @SloppyVinyl to stay up to date with all of our content.

[Music] Madlib Plays Unreleased Mac Miller, Thunercat Song

[Music] Madlib Plays Unreleased Mac Miller, Thunercat Song

Producer Madlib released a snippet of an unreleased Mac Miller song at a show this past weekend. The clip is only about a minute long, but we get to hear some new bars from the late Pittsburgh rapper.

As a Mac Miller stan, this is really exciting that there may be more music stored away that can come out some time down the line. The sound of this track seems to be a bit of a departure from the stuff that was released on “Swimming” and sounds a bit more like something that would have come out on “GO:OD AM.”

The snippet that was played was a perfect display of the maturation of Mac. He’s rapping with confidence in both his lyrics and voice; he had finally figured out who he was as an artist. It’s not really a tangible factor or one certain thing that he is doing differently, you can just tell how laser focused he was just by listening.

Hopefully this unreleased music makes it’s way to the public, the world still needs to hear Mac Miller. He wasn’t finished yet, not by a long shot.
