The Black Keys have released their new single “Lo/Hi” with an announcement coming via Instagram. This marks the first release from the Akron duo since they dropped their last studio album “Turn Blue” back in 2014.
The single sounds like a return to form for the group after receiving mixed reviews on their last project. It sounds more similar to the stuff off “El Camino,” bringing in a real bluesy sound led by a catchy guitar riff from lead singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach. Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney haven’t missed a beat, even after a five year hiatus. If this single is any indicator of the direction of their sound, it seems that they want to go back to their roots of what launched them into the mainstream.
No word yet on any other music, but this single should mark the start of the next album rollout. To hold you off, I recommend the whole Black Keys catalog, as well as Auerbach’s solo project “Waiting on a Song.”

According to XXL, rapper YNW Melly has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges.
The rapper, who was fresh off a Kanye feature, has been charged with the murder of two of his friends, YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy. The rapper has claimed to be innocent throughout the case, even publicly mourning their deaths back in October. Melly has gained nationally attention for his song “Murder On My Mind.” Since the murders, it has climbed all the way to number four on the Spotify top 50 songs list.
The detective’s working the case believe that the rapper’s claims of a drive-by shooting are false, and that he is the one who carried out the murders.
The case is ongoing and will continue to play out over the course of the next few months.

Kylie Jenner has officially surpassed Mark Zuckerberg to become the youngest self-made billionaire in the world. At just 21 years old, Jenner has surged her net worth all the way to billionaire status.
According to Forbes, Jenner was worth just $5 million back in 2015, but the monumental success of her brand — Kylie Cosmetics — has catapulted the Kardashian star into the billionaire threshold. Her exclusive deal with Ulta, combined with her social media promotion has led to huge financial growth each year. She owns the entire company and only has 7 other full time employees. Kris Jenner, the matriarch of all of this, handles PR for the company while collecting a ten percent fee.
There is obvious controversy on social media surrounding the term “self-made billionaire.” Jenner comes from an extremely privileged family and already had a built in platform for easy success. Unlike Zuckerberg who started his company from scratch inside his Harvard dorm room, Jenner had financial freedom to fail or succeed on her own without any risk or repercussions.
The accomplishment is still pretty crazy, becoming a billionaire that quickly isn’t an easy task. However, the term “self-made” should probably be amended in Jenner’s case because she didn’t face any difficulties in funding the business and her name recognition alone defiantly helped secure her lucrative deal with Ulta. The main thing that is impressive is her social media prowess. She effectively used her followers as the only form of promotion for her products; an impressive innovation for replacing standard advertising.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the New York Giants will not be retaining three time Pro-Bowl safety Landon Collins.
The Giants have informed Collins that they will not be using the franchise tag on him, and he will become an unrestricted free agent. Collins was one of the best defensive players on the Giants’ roster and is regarded as one of the best safeties in the league. He will be highly pursued in free agency by several teams.
Collins had expressed his opinion on not wanting to play next season under the franchise tag and was seeking a long term offer. The team decided to let him go in order to keep the $11 million in cap space to go after other players. Giants general manager Dave Gettleman has received some flak from the media and the fans for his poor management of finances. It has been pointed out that the team could cut longtime quarterback Eli Manning and save $17 million. The team could then cover the expense of Collins and still have extra money to pursue other cheaper QB options.
The Giants have had a losing record for five out of the past six seasons, marking extreme lows for the franchise. Over the last two years, the talent from the defensive ball has floundered and Collins leaves an even bigger hole in an already weak unit. With the talent that Collins possesses, he should fetch a big deal this coming free agency period.

Oh, baby! After weeks of promotional posters and stories written about the final season, we have finally gotten our first look at actual video of what lies ahead in “Game of Thrones.” The Night King has knocked through the wall and the long night is upon the people of Westeros. The trailer gives us a glimpse of Dany and Jon making landfall at Winterfell together for the first time. The dragons are still here and flying over the north to the amazement of both Sansa and Arya. Jamie has pledged his will to fight for the living, while Cersei is still lurking south at Kings Landing plotting her next move. All of this footage is capped off with what has to be the highly anticipated, highly teased Battle of Winterfell. The battle is reportedly the longest filmed battle scene in entertainment history and took 11 weeks to shoot.
We are almost a month away from April 14, and the hype train is moving full steam ahead.
