[Music] Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” is Available on All Streaming Platforms

Three years after the release of her monster album Lemonade, Beyoncé has finally released her album on all streaming platforms. The album was exclusive to Tidal for the past few years, now platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, and Google Play get to reap the rewards of “Queen B’s” music.

Beyoncé has been making a whole lot of noise over the past few weeks. It was announced earlier this month that she has teamed up with Adidas to make a signature shoe with the brand. Beyoncé will also re-launch her athletic clothing brand, Ivy Park, under the Adidas umbrella. She joins the likes of Kanye West, and Donald Glover, to join the athletic apparel company.

Last Friday, Netflix released a documentary titled Homecoming, that highlighted Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella performance. The film shows her performance in its entirety, as well as giving and inside look to the the process of the work and message that was put into the performance. This is the first of three projects that Beyoncé will release for Netflix. The deal she signed with the streaming service is a reported $60 million.

[News] YNW Melly Faces Death Penalty

[News] YNW Melly Faces Death Penalty

YNW Melly might be in some more trouble than he initially thought. The state of Florida is pursuing the death penalty on the 19 year old rapper for the murder of two of his friends.

Melly is accused of conducting a shooting, killing both his friends, and then staging the crime scene as a drive by shooting, in an attempt to exonerate himself. Melly’s friends, were fellow rappers who were only just 21 and 19 years old, respectively.

TMZ reports, that the state has proof that the Florida rapper killed his friends for financial benefits, and that the murder was especially heinous because it appears to be a calculated, cold murder. The state also believes that Melly is affiliated with a gang.

Melly saw his star rise earlier this year, when he was able to get a Kanye West feature. His song, “Murder On My Mind,” skyrocketed up the charts as a result of his crime. Currently, the song is just shy of 200,000,000 streams on Spotify.

The case will continue in the coming weeks, and there is no further news at this time. We will update accordingly as more news comes in.

[Music] NEW VIDEO: Mak Bandz x Smoola- Zippers

We got a new video from new artists, Mak Bandz and Smoola. The video features the track “Zippers,” which is the first single off the pair’s upcoming EP, titled 2 Deep In, scheduled to drop in May.

The Cincinnati tandem dropped their trap anthem accompanied by a pretty sweet visual directed by AI. The song has a looped traditional trap beat, with a piano commanding the most attention. It’s simple, which makes it easy on the ears and a conventional catchy track.

Mak and Smoola take turns trading verses on this thing. The best way I can describe the sound of the track, is by comparing the duo to a hybrid version of Migos and ScHoolboy Q. They both have the capabilities to handle a verse and chorus on their own, but based off this track alone, the chemistry and fit is apparent. This song exhibits the pure rap prowess from both artists, and proves that they can a song that would fit in with the modern rap record.

Aside from the actual song, the visual is a solid production. It’s all edited well and made good use of its locations. The hallway silhouettes and use of the crawl space gives the viewer a good sense of the environment, as well as matching the tone of the song. The highlight of the video is the transitions and different color lighting that is featured throughout. The red and green lighting add a flare to the video and breathes life into the whole aesthetic of the track.

This is only the beginning of Mak Bandz and Smoola. A strong debut from the duo, with more music due out in May.

[Music] Kevin Abstract Releases Three New Tracks Titled “Ghettobaby”

[Music] Kevin Abstract Releases Three New Tracks Titled “Ghettobaby”

Kevin Abstract released three more songs late last night in a collection that he calls Ghettobaby. Abstract announced last week that he was going to be releasing a series of three songs every Thursday for the rest of the month. He went on Twitter to explain that all the songs are apart of the same album and not just three separate EPs.

The new batch of songs, produced by Romil Hemnani and Jack Antonoff, signify a new era for the L.A. based rapper. Based off the three track sample alone, it is clear that Abstract has improved immensely from his first solo project. Collaborating with a super producer Jack Antonoff is a huge artistic leap for Abstract and indicates the broad range his music is capable of reaching. Abstract also clarified that this new solo venture will not get in the way of more Brockhampton music.

All three tracks, “Corpus Christi,” “Baby Boy,” and “Mississippi,” are extremely personal exposés from Abstract. “Corpus Christi” sounds more like an essay than a rap song and it’s bliss to the ears. The production is what wraps this all together, it’s typically a highlight of Abstract’s music in his Brockhampton ventures, but this stuff is in its own stratosphere. Two thumbs up for this fresh batch of music.

Abstract is slated to release more music next Thursday, so stay on watch for that new drop.
