German DJ and Producer Boys Noize released two new singles over the weekend. The first “Girl Crush” features “Countin’ Up” rapper Rico Nasty, and the second is “Buchla 100.”
Boys Noize, is best known for being half of the EDM act Dog Blood with Skrillex, and has been named by Rolling Stone as one of the “Top 10 DJ’s Who Rule The World.” Boys Noize has collaborated on Frank Ocean‘s 2019 single “DHL,” A$AP Rocky‘s “Babushka Boi,” and had a grammy nominated single this year with Skrillex and Ty Dolla Sign, “Midnight Hour.”
“Girl Crush” is gritty and dark, and features a driving bass with a heavy pulsing electro-house beat on top. Rico Nasty’s voice is almost trance like as she sings about having a crush on another woman, and is seductively suggestive in the track’s opening “oooooh, ahhh’s” showing us another side of her from her usual rapping. It’s a track that will surely be a club hit, and will find it’s way into many festival sets this summer.
“Buchla 100” is an “electro-house” instrumental track. The single reaches ecstasy with a recording from a rare 1960s built Buchla 100 Modular synth system.
Netflix has released the first teaser for the highly anticipated fourth and final season, of Stranger Things. The teaser doesn’t reveal too much about the upcoming seasons, but it’s left behind some big hints that have the internet going crazy.
Season 3 had an emotional ending filled with loss, compassion, friendship and love, and left us all in tears. Hopper sacrificed himself to save everyone, and then later on Joyce decides to take Will, Johnathon and Eleven out of Hawkins in order to find a fresh new start elsewhere.
As the family packs up the house, we see Eleven reading a letter from her adoptive father Hopper, that he never had time to give her. He narrates the letter, and leaves in it not only wisdom, but his love. Meanwhile, we see the rest of the gang teary-eyed as they say their goodbyes. It an emotional and powerful ending that feels almost like a finale. But the new teaser proves that the series is far from over.
The teaser is titled “From Russia, With Love,” hinting that the show will be expanding its world beyond the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. Sure enough, the trailer starts off in Siberia, Russia where Soviet guards are watching over a chain gang of prisoners working on a railroad. One of them takes his hat off and reveals himself to be, Hopper, confirming many fan suspicions that he survived the explosion.
The teaser doesn’t provide us with much else, but the reappearance of Hopper is enough to get fans excited for the final season.
Happy Valentine’s Day! The music world is spreading lots of love today with the release of 3 new albums. What’s a better Valentine’s Day gift than new music from your favorite artists? That’s right, nothing! Flowers and chocolates are nice, but music is forever <3. Tame Impala, Justin Bieber and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie dropped albums that will fill the void in your hearts.
Justin Bieber- “Changes”
Justin Bieber has been teasing his fans with snippets of his fifth studio album Changes since the premiere of his Youtube docuseries, Seasons, last month. The LP spans 17 tracks, and includes features from, Quavo, Post Malone, Clever, Lil Dicky, Travis Scott and Kehlani. This is Bieber’s first album since 2015’s Purpose. As Bieber has hinted, most of the songs are about his wife Hailey Baldwin, making the Valentine’s Day release extra sweet. Changes has an R&B feel to it that will remind you of his Journals days. The LP is a perfect compilation of heartfelt love ballads and upbeat bops.
Tame Impala- The Slow Rush
It’s been almost 5 years since the release of Currents, and Kevin Parker is finally back with the much anticipated, The Slow Rush. Last spring, Parker released the singles, “Patience” and “Borderline,” but the album’s announcement didn’t come until the end of the year. Parker reportedly delayed the album’s release due to his perfectionism, but after giving the album a listen, it was DEFINITELY worth the wait. The LP spans 12 tracks, with a remastered version of “Borderline,” while Patience didn’t make the final cut. The album has a groovy-trance psychedelia feel to it.
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie- Artist 2.0

“B.*.T.C.H.” is produced by Helluva Beat and is a remake of of 2Pac’s “Rather Be Ya N****.” In an Interview with Beats 1, she explained that the inspiration for the song came one night after a show.
“I’m like ‘I wanna remake ‘Ratha Be Ya N****’ by 2Pac,” said Megan. “So I got Helluva Beats to make this beat for me. He literally sent me the beat the next day. I wrote a little bit of it on the plane and then I wrote the rest of it in my hotel room in the next state.” A week later she was recording the song in a Las Vegas studio.”
