[PLAYLIST] DO YOU MISS BEING 17?

Seventeen is the greatest age to ever exist. You are just starting to become an adult, and you are no longer viewed as a child. You get your driver’s license which opens up and an entirely new world for you, or your friend gets their license first and you bum rides off of them for the entire year. You finally start dating and putting yourself out their to create your adult personality. Hey, you might even go to your first party.

All these new things happening at once is extremely eye-opening and exciting. No age is quite like seventeen, it is even better than twenty-one! A lot of music artists agree that it is truly the best age.

Here are some songs if you truly miss being seventeen like I do:

“Seventeen” by Marina and the Diamonds:

“Never felt like a princess / I used to kid myself in this dress / That it was just how things / were meant to be / Oh seventeen / Seventeen

“Seventeen Forever” by Metro Station

“We’re one mistake from being together / But let’s not ask why it’s not right / You won’t be seventeen forever / And we can get away with this tonight”

“Dancing Queen” by ABBA

“You are the dancing queen / Young and sweet / Only seventeen”

“Seventeen” by Peach Pit

“There’s something dark hangin’ over my head / I’m seventeen, don’t hold your breath”

“Edge of Seventeen” by Stevie Nicks

“All alone on the edge of seventeen”

“Seventeen” by Alessia Cara

“I couldn’t wait ’till I could be seventeen / I thought he lied when he said take my time to dream / Now I wish I could freeze the time at seventeen”

“Seventeen” by Stone Cold Fox

“I was a happy kid when I was seventeen / I had no love to lose I pictured it in dreams”

I hope this didn’t make you too nostalgic. We will always remember what it was like to be Seventeen. May the rest of your years be as magical as Seventeen was.

[ONE OF THE GREATEST MINDS OF OUR CENTURY] STEPHEN HAWKING DIES

Stephen Hawking, one of the most brilliant people to ever grace the earth died today on March 14th, 2018 at the age of 76. The British theoretical physicist struggled with a debilitating disease but still managed to publish popular books probing the mysteries of the universe. He was a cosmetologist, astronomer, mathematician and an author of numerous best selling books. One of his most notable works is “A Brief History of Time” which sold more than 10 million copies. He created and refined theories to conclude space and time would begin with the Big Bang and end in black holes. Without Stephen Hawking, we would not have a complete understanding of the world today.

Although his death was shocking and sad, he lived for far longer than he thought. He was diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease in 1963 also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease which is usually fatal in a few years. But despite his diagnosis, he lived until the age of 76. I think this is a sign that he was meant to be on this planet to share the wisdom that he was meant to give to the world. He changed the world and recreated our view on it, all while battling for his life. It was not an accident that he lived for this long.

It was unfortunate he had to die on Pi day (March 14th), but the world has a way of sending us signs. He was truly a God among men and he will forever be remembered.

People took to Twitter to give their condolences:

Rest in Peace Stephen Hawking you truly changed the world.

[COVER GROUP] NIGHTCORE

Nightcore is a music group that started back in 2002 and consists of Thomas S. Nilsen and Steffen Ojala Søderholm from Norway, Alta. They mix techno and dance music into faster and more lighter sounds. It first started as a school project but grew into something much bigger. They have a Youtube channel to put their music out.

They post Nightcores/Night steps/EDM songs that are a pretty enjoyable listen.

Just look at their cover of “Blue” by Eiffel 65:

They might not have the most creativity, but songs are fun to be heard at a different pace. It takes a nice spin on the songs to make them more energetic. They also have pretty interesting graphics to match the energy of their songs.

Check out some more of their covers:

Also one of the best ones, “Discord”:

LIL UZI VERT MISSED A PERFORMANCE?

Lil Uzi Vert was scheduled to have a performance at Buku Festival in New Orleans but he did not show up to it, and gave no reason.

According to sources, Lil Uzi had a one hour set scheduled from 8:00 – 9:00 pm, but according to promoters, Uzi never left Philadelphia.

Instead of the performance there was a projected announcement on the screen that read he, “decided not to come at the last minute” and the stage crew got pretty petty by writing that there is no reason at all why.

This is what the screen fully said:

I think this is pretty hilarious actually. The stage crew was certainly as pissed off as the crowd, as they should be.

If you are an artist and you have a performance it is your job to perform for your fans. People bought tickets to see him, and it must of been a severe let down. Hopefully he isn’t getting too cocky and releases a clear explanation why he couldn’t make it. And if he was just chilling, he should make up a lie that justifies the skipped performance.

Instead of the lyrics from his song, “You was right:”

“You was right, I was wrong
Ya, I should’ve never ever took her home”

It should be:

“You was right, I was wrong

Ya, I should’ve never bought tickets to see ya show”

I love you Lil Uzi Vert, but don’t let the fame get to your head.

SPECIAL SNOWFLAKES ACCUSE BRUNO MARS OF CULTURAL APPROPRIATION

Cultural appropriation is defined as, the act of taking or using things from a culture that is not your own, especially without showing that you understand or respect this culture. This is a very open-ended definition that can be confused and misinterpreted. There have been a lot of instances of cultural appropriation in the music world recently that has lead to a lot of controversies around artists.

But a lot of people who accuse others of doing this, have a case of special snowflake syndrome. Everyone wants to come after artists on social media to start drama but behind their screens, they have no idea what they are talking about. Then people try to jump on the bandwagon to seem like they are a part of a cause that is bigger than them. I really hate this generation.

A week ago an activist accused Bruno Mars, of all people, of being a culture vulture profiting off of traditionally black music. Bruno Mars’ mother is Filipina and his father is Puerto Rican and Jewish but he has music that is funk, soul, R&B, reggae and hip-hop.

This girl who probably is so bored out of her mind that she has to find SOMETHING to fight about said this:

This girl has no life, who cares? I suggest you stop screaming on Twitter for views and start dealing with your actual problems that made you so angry for no reason.

Don’t worry a lot of people came to Bruno Mar’s defense:

Bruno Mars said in a February 2017 interview with Latina magazine:

“When you say ‘black music,’ understand that you are talking about rock, jazz, R&B, reggae, funk, doo-wop, hip-hop and Motown, black people created it all. Being Puerto Rican, even salsa music stems back to the Motherland [Africa]. So, in my world, black music means everything. It’s what gives America its swag. I’m a child raised in the ’90s, pop music was heavily rooted in R&B from Whitney, Diddy, Dr. Dre, Boyz II Men, Aaliyah, TLC, Babyface, New Edition, Michael, and so much more … I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for these artists who inspired me.”

Overall everyone is overly sensitive and probably mad that he took home almost all the Grammys this year. People should really get a hobby or something and stop coming for talented artists that use other cultures to inspire them.
