Lawand is a 20-year-old singer from New York who is clearly very talented. Lawand grew up with her mom, dad, and older brother in small town Kingston NY. Not only is she a singer, she is also a songwriter and knows how to play the piano and the guitar. Clearly a triple threat- she is sure to get her big break soon.
She just released a cover of “Love Lies” by Khalid and Norman which shows her beautiful voice.
Check out the cover here:
Lawand has worked her whole life to perfect her craft. She has been singing since the day she was born. Her interest in music started with her parents exposing her to the greats such as Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Billy Idol, and Madonna.
She started singing in church at only five years old under the ministry of her mother. She started playing the piano at the age of four and taught herself guitar. At the age of fourteen, she started to perform more regularly when she joined her high school choir, which included a solo every year. She also got the opportunity to perform at the pristine Carnegie Hall her senior year of high school.
Obviously, she is a singer who is dedicated and talented to pursue her goal to get into the music industry. She is a very versatile artist and you can expect to see more of her in the future.

April 5th, the day before Cardi B’s debut album dropped she sat down with Ebro Darden from New York’s Hot 97 to discuss the behind the scenes coverage of the making of her album Invasion of Privacy.
Listen to the interview here:
The 30-minute long interview discusses how all the tracks on the album were produced, created and born into what they are today. She also addresses the rumors surrounding her by stating that everything on the internet is made up- isn’t it always?
She sits and talks about her past and opens up about how some tracks were hard to put on the record because they were so personal. Tracks like “Get up 10” get really vulnerable but she felt like she had to tell her story since so many people have doubted her and have hated her for just being herself. People don’t realize that she is not just the face that sung “Bodak Yellow,” she is a person who has worked her whole life to get where she is now and the road was rough. This interview really does show that side of her and it was done really well.
She might have been holding back her personality for this interview, but it was nice to see her taking it seriously.
After listening to the album in full, you can really see how thankful Cardi is for everyone who was featured on the record. She stated that everyone was so helpful even with their extremely busy schedules, and not only were those artists willing to be featured on the tracks, they did it perfectly. Not every album that comes out is pure gold.

Nicki Minaj is ready to take back the spotlight after Cardi B’s release of her debut album Invasion of Privacy that dropped last Friday. Nicki has been pretty low key this year, only releasing features but this Thursday she has a huge surprise for us.
The cover art looks lovely and throws us back to the roots of her Barbie image. The buns look insanely adorable and that thong and jacket combination is killing me.
The style seems very 2010 when she would regularly wearing insane wigs as a part of her persona.
Does this mean Roman is on the track????????
Roman has been dormant for a few years since we only really saw him on her earlier albums but I think that it is time for a come-back, and especially because that personality she channels is one of my favorite assets of her rap.
I also noticed that Nicki has been stepping up her game on her verses recently because for a long time it seemed like she hit a wall where she was saying “pussy on your sideburns” almost every feature. But her verse on “MotorSport” showed us all that she has been holding back.
I will run to my computer at 10 am on Thursday to hear what the queen of rap has in store for us. These rappers really be out here trying to murder us with all this new music.
She teams up with Carly Rae Jepsen to give us an unexpected bop from her 2017 release Pop 2.
Check out the song here:
Before her fame, in 2008 she posted songs on her Myspace to gain popularity and this song shows her roots.
The song shines with the chorus and haunting beats to truly capture the mid-2000s ora while putting a modern twist on it. Even though garbage band bands no longer exist, we can count on the pioneers to keep it alive.
“Just Dance” sent Lady Gaga into instant stardom and she would continue on with her career to be one of the most influential names in the pop music today. She influenced pop culture so heavily in 2009-2012 that almost every star was competing with her- even in different genres.
She tweeted this out to her fans:
I can’t believe it’s been ten years since the release of Just Dance. It’s very emotional and I am so grateful to little monsters for sticking by me all these years. Cheers to many more, filled with love & bravery to be yourself. I love you so so much 💕 pic.twitter.com/gV9CZZ2ZJi
I am so happy that Lady Gaga was able to break out into the industry ten years ago to rework everything we thought we knew about pop culture. Lady Gaga is the Madonna of our generation and should be treated as such. Even though she has moved on from her stage persona with her album Joanne, she will always go down in history and “Just Dance” marks the start of her takeover.
