[Music] Kid Cudi’s new album to be released with animated Netflix series

Kid Cudi is teaming up with TV producer Kenya Barris for his album’s new release on Netflix.

The rapper’s album Entergalactic will serve as the backdrop for what is called an “adult animated music series”. According to Variety, the story will follow a young man, played by Kid Cudi, on his quest to find love.

This is either going to be a smash hit, or a total failure. I have never heard of anything like this before and if either the music or the story is weak, the whole thing will suck. This is a huge gamble by Cudi and I hope it pays off but if it doesn’t, it’s all his fault.

[News] Affiliate of 6ix9ine charged with 5 years in prison

A member of Tekashie 6ix9ine’s gang has officially been sentenced to five years in prison because of racketeering.

As reported by Complex, Jensel “Ish” Butler was the first man to get sentenced in the large-scale case involving “GUMMO” rapper 6ix9ine. Butler admitted to being apart of the 2018 robbery in Times Square of 50 Cent’s media company.

As HotNewHipHopNews astutely points out, this is the lightest sentence that Butler could have received for this type of crime. Butler was apparently more in the background of Nine Trey misdemeanors, and was the driver during the 2018 case.

Butler broke down when he was asked to speak to the jury and his family: “I knew my actions and being around the people I was around could cause harm to people, and I deeply apologize. When I serve my time, I am going to make a difference in [my children’s] lives. I apologize for everything.”

We’ll see who gets sentenced next in this 6ix9ine fiasco.

[Movies] “It Chapter Two” drops second, thrilling trailer

“It Chapter Two” has just released its second trailer, and has been causing some excitement. Unlike the first trailer, this one ramps up the creepy quickly, so much that even the most avid horror fans took notice.

The first “It” was based on a Steven King novel with the same name, and shows a group of children terrorized by a shape-shifting clown Pennywise.

The second chapter follows the kids as adults. The official film synopsis is, “”Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, ‘IT CHAPTER TWO’ brings the characters — who’ve long since gone their separate ways — back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.”

The cast that will play the adults are James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, and James Ransone. Pennywise will be played by Bill Skarsgård.

[Music] Chance the Rapper reveals new album details on Fallon

Last night on Jimmy Fallon, Chance the Rapper announced the name and release date of his upcoming album. It will be called The Big Day and can be pre-ordered on July 27th.

Apparently what had happened is that Chance asked Fallon to pre-order his album and Jimmy responded by saying only if Chance announces the name and date of his album on Jimmy’s show. Some shady stuff, if you ask me.

[Movies] Hustlers’ first full length trailer

Hustlers has just released its first official full-length trailer. The movie will tell the story of a stripper named Destiny (Constance Wu) who teams up with other strippers to steal from the much richer. The most impressive part of the trailer is its star-studded cast. It has got Cardi B, Jennifer Lopez, Lizzo, Keke Palmer and more. A movie with that many stars is going to rake on an extraordinary amount of revenue.
