The final trailer for “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” shows a young Dumbledore and more of the famous wizarding school Hogwarts.
I grew up on “Harry Potter” but I didn’t love 2016’s “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” I felt like it was too light, the plot was forced and the whole thing seemed unnecessary. To make matters worse, the one character I actually liked in the prequel, played by Colin Farrell, transformed into the very problematic Johnny Depp at the end. After struggling to finish the first “Fantastic Beasts” I wasn’t looking forward to its sequel “The Crimes of Grindelwald.” That all changed when I saw this trailer, which has me thinking it might actually be pretty good.

As the title suggests, this movie will focus on Grindelwald, who for casual fans can be considered the Original Voldemort, played by Depp. In the original “Harry Potter” books and movies, allusions were made to Dumbledore’s battle with Grindelwald when they were younger. It looks like we’ll be seeing their conflicts, as “The Young Pope” and “The Talented Mr. Ripley” star Jude Law. I expect this will make this sequel seem more necessary and worth watching.
The trailer also teases “Fantastic Beasts 1” costars including Eddie Redmaye and Katherine Waterston will return, but hopefully in smaller doses. Scenes also take place in Hogwarts. For people whose childhoods were filled with “Harry Potter” the school is always great to see. After the first “Fantastic Beasts” didn’t have any scenes in the castle, I feel like returning to Hogwarts will be worth the price of a theater ticket.

The story is definitely going to be dark, and it’s interesting that these prequels are mostly focussing on adults, after the original eight movies featured children as they grew up.
Even though I know, in broad strokes, the story of Grindelwald I think, and hope, that “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” will be an improvement over the first “Harry Potter” prequel.
“Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” will hit theaters on November 16.
This weekend, many moviegoers seemed to stay home instead of going out to the theaters, as two of the weekend’s four new releases didn’t even make it into the box office’s Top 10, while the poorly advertised Jack Black and Cate Blanchett family film “The House with a Clock in Its Walls” was able to debut in first place with a soft $26.6 million opening weekend.
Despite having a very limited ad campaign (I honestly don’t think I saw a single trailer for this movie) “The House with a Clock in Its Walls” managed to nab the top stop. The movie looks like a clone of 2015’s ‘Goosebumps” another Jack Black family Halloween film, which has a sequel debuting next month. This film is based off a John Bellairs novel and is directed by “Hostel” and “The Green Inferno” creator Eli Roth, marking the best debut of his career. I expect this movie will quickly come and go within the next few weeks, however it may become a sleeper hit as Halloween looms closer.

Michael Moore’s documentary “Fahrenheit 11/9” also debuted this past weekend but failed in comparison to Moore’s record breaking and award winning “Fahrenheit 9/11.” “11/9” examines the nation’s current political climate and focuses mostly on President Trump. When “Fahrenheit 9/11” premiered in 2004, it became the first documentary to top the box office, grossing $23.9 million in its first three days. “Fahrenheit 11/9” however, debuted in eighth place and only made $3 million. Are we currently experiencing Trump overkill? With him dominating nearly every news cycle, maybe audiences didn’t want to buy a ticket to watch this documentary when they could put on the news. Maybe we, as a country, are too divided right now for a documentary like “Fahrenheit 11/9.”
“This is Us” creator Dan Fogelman’s “Life Itself” couldn’t even make it into the Top 10. The Olivia Wilde, Oscar Isaac, Annette Benning drama came in at number 11, grossing only $2.1 million. Even worse was “Assassination Nation” the satirical mordern version of the Salem Witch Trials. Despite a sizeable ad campaign (I definitely saw more ads for “Assassination Nation” than “The House with a Clock in Its Walls”), the film only managed to scoop up $1 million and came in at an embarassing 15th place.

“Crazy Rich Asians” had the smallest drop of the week, dropping only 25% and making another $6.3 million. The romantic comedy’s haul is now up to $159.2 million domestically, proving it to be an undeniable hit. On the other end of the spectrum, “The Predator” suffered the steepest drop, dropping 62.7%.
“The Nun” crossed the century mark, now having made $100.6 million domestically. “A Simple Favor” came in second place, dropping a respectable 36%. Director Paul Feig announced his next movie, and rather than cast Anna Kendrick or Blake Lively, Feig cast breakout from “Crazy Rich Asians” and “A Simple Favor” Henry Golding in “Last Christmas” opposite “Game of Thrones” Emilia Clarke.
Hopefully next weekend’s new releases, “Night School” “Hell Fest” and “Smallfoot” will fair better than this past weekend’s offerings.
Netflix’s new limited series “Maniac” is like “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” combined with “Inception” while being a “Superbad” reunion.
The mini-series, directed by the man behind the first season of “True Detective” and “Beasts of No Nation” Cary Joji Fukunaga, follows Jonah Hill and Emma Stone as two strangers who are both in deep depressions. Hill plays Owen, the key witness in his older brother’s upcoming court trial, who is believed to be schizophrenic. Stone plays Annie, who has become a drug addict after causing her sister’s death in a car accident. Both are accepted into a drug trial that, with a combination of 3 pills, aims to cure all mental illnesses.

“Maniac” takes place in the near future, but has an 80’s aesthetic with now out of date computers and graphics populating the world. This has led some to describe the mini-series’s tone as retro-futuristic. This only adds to tis uniqueness.
Justin Theroux plays Dr. Mantleray, one of the creators of the drug, and works alongside Dr. Fujita, played by “Ex Machina” costar Sonoya Mizuno. They’ve created a special computer named GRTA who goes into the patients’ subconscious with them. GRTA is inspired by Dr. Mantleray’s mother, Gertie, and both the computer and its real life counterpart are played by Sally Field in a fun and quirky role.
The show deals with mental illness and surrealism. It’s comedic, but most of its comedy comes from absurdism; it never makes the characters’ mental illnesses the butt of a joke.

As Owen and Annie delve further into the 3 pills (A, B and C), they start to envision alternate lives and after GRTA malfunctions, their subconsciouses become linked and they share the same visions. For an episode or two, the pair become a married couple living in Long Island trying to kidnap a lemur. In another, they attend a seance in the 1940s. Deeper into the ten episode mini-series, Annie envisions herself as an elf seemingly out of “Game of Thrones” and Owen becomes a gangster who looks shockingly like Post Malone.

“Maniac” is definitely not for everyone. I’m sure many people will find it too weird, too strange, too out there for their tastes, which is totally valid. However, I strongly recommend everyone give it a try. Be warned, the first episode or two may seem a little slow, but once they enter the facility and begin the drug trial, it becomes perfectly absurd, dark, deep and surprisingly moving.
Dillinger was in the news earlier this year for making threats against Kayne West, banning him from California and putting out a National alert for all his fellow Crips to attack him in the streets.
“Kanye West…fuck you and your bitch,” the shirtless 45-year-old tells his phone. “That bitch sucked so much dick. She probably ain’t sucking your dick because you be on one. But I got that new song coming out, ‘Fuck Kanye.’ Nick Cannon, beat that n***a ass. You can beat Kanye, you can beat him up.”
“FuckKanyeUp,” which he announced back in May.
This all started when West lyrics in “Ye Vs. The People” pissed off the dog pound member off causing Daz to go on an Anti-Kayne run for months. So in the mist of it all he felt the need to throw shots at Ye’s wife Kim Kardashian. Daz Dilly claims that Kim has messed around with the entire industry, shooting his shot at Kris Jenner because, in his eyes, since her children have turned out the way they are, she must have taught them her skills.
Nick Cannon was previously called out before by Kayne for saying Kim and Drake hookup rumors might be true. So of course Kayne wasn’t having that and had few words for him. “I understand that you used to date my wife, but you know, you get into an interview, don’t mention my wife.” Cannon responded a few hours later, saying that he still has “love and respect” for him, but he wasn’t going to let him dictate what he can and can’t say.
Ye is not having it, when it comes to anybody coming at his wife. He for sure will voice his opinion. Just because Kim is affiliated with Kayne, Daz knows where to shoot his shot. He knows mentioning ye’s wife would tick him off. Daz Dillinger even wants to see them two fight it out. Dillinger even said police even approached him after he pushed the Crips to beat up West.
Did he really have to bring Kim into this??? Smh …

Drake cancels two of his shows in Miami after coming down with an illness.
The God plan singer has been set to perform in Florida on Friday September 21, and September 22 as part of the Three Migos tour.
The venue, American Airlines Arena, took to social media on Friday to explain that the rescheduling was “due to circumstances beyond our control,” but Drake offered a more detailed explanation on Saturday, clarifying that it wasn’t production issues, which had seen the start of the tour in July pushed back by two weeks.
“I just wanted to say how sorry I am about these two Miami shows,” the “In My Feelings” rapper wrote on his Instagram Story. “I got so ill so fast and I had never experienced anything like that in my life.”
A source tells Us Weekly that Drake wasn’t admitted to the hospital but was treated at a hotel for a bad case of the flu. The dates have been rescheduled for November 13 and 14.
That’s a bumper for the die hard fans of drake who purchased tickets in hopes to see him, but Health comes first and Drake has to take care of himself. Even though, the dates been move up 2 months from now at least he hasn’t back out of it all together, true fans will understand, and I’m sure when Drake is up and well he will go even thousand times harder when it comes time to perform to make it up to his fans.
