Purdue Knocks Ohio State From Undefeated Ranks
Another week, another college football super power falls.
We’ll get to that in just a bit, but when recapping Week 8 of the college football season, much stayed the same.
Alabama continues to dominate, Kyler Murray continues to look like Superman, LSU’s defense continues to leave bruises and Minnesota continued to lose …
*Gets phone call*
Minnesota won?!? Party at my house at 11!!! In all seriousness, the craziness that we saw the previous week would not be matched this week as all but one top 10 team won during Week 8.
Here’s my recap of the Saturday that was in college football.
Boilermakers Blowout Buckeyes In Upset Win
The last time Purdue took on Ohio State the program was embarrassed 56-0 at home five years ago.
Improving slowly under Jeff Brohm after years of being a losing program, the Boilermakers returned the favor on Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium.
Behind David Blough (378 passing yards, 3 TDs) and D.J. Knox (128 rushing yards, 3 TDs), the Purdue Boilermakers picked up their biggest win in the past decade in a 49-20 thrashing of No. 2 ranked Ohio State.
In a game that was never close, Jeff Brohm’s team dominated Urban Meyer’s in every facet of the game on a chilly night in West Lafayette.
The loss is Ohio State’s first of the season, one that due to how wide the margin of defeat was to an unranked Purdue team.
Defensively, the Buckeyes have not been good on that side of the ball in 2018 and their glaring weaknesses along the defensive line as well as the secondary were exposed further on Saturday night.
Purdue is 3-1 in conference play this season, a record they’ll have a chance to improve on next weekend when they take on Michigan State in East Lansing.
Oregon Can’t Continue Winning Ways
What Oregon accomplished last week in defeating the Washington Huskies was diminished with a stinker in Pullman Saturday afternoon.
The Washington State Cougars rode a dominant first half performance to defeat the Oregon Ducks 34-20 and improve to 6-1 on the season.
Senior quarterback Gardner Minshew picked apart Oregon’s secondary as he completed 39-of-51 while throwing for 321 passing yards, 4 TDs and 2 INTs.
A week after rushing for 111 rushing yards and 2 TDs, Oregon running back CJ Verdell would have difficulty vs Washington State’s defense as he was limited to 55 rushing yards on 12 carries.
Washington State owned a 27-0 halftime lead at home over the Ducks as they limited Oregon to well under 200 yards in the first half.
It was a tough day throwing the ball for Oregon as well as quarterback Justin Herbert was held to 6.1 yards per completion while completing only 56.8 percent of his passes.
Washington State’s fans stormed Martin Stadium following the game as the win over No. 12 ranked Oregon gave the Cougars their biggest win of the season.
UCF Remains Unbeaten
The UCF Knights continue to win, no matter what the college playoff committee has to say about it.
UCF improved to 7-0 following a 37-0 road vs ECU on Saturday at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
Minus their leading rusher McKenzie Milton, UCF dominated on the ground despite his absence as quarterback Darriel Mack Jr. led the way with 120 rushing yards and a touchdown run in the win.
UCF may never get the respect they deserve playing in the AAC, but dating back to last season it’s 20 consecutive victories for Josh Heupel’s team.
With Ohio State’s loss, UCF should vault past their No. 10 ranking in the nation.
The question is, what can a team on the precipice of back-to-back undefeated seasons do to gain recognition as a national power?

The ‘Foolish’ singer was expected to perform at Stony Brook University’s Back To Brook event later this month. But according to Bossip that show was drop after they sold just 24 tickets to the concert.

50 Cent took to Instagram and had this to say about the ‘Foolish’ singer after her show was forced to cancel due to low ticket sales.
“I thought I told everybody not to f**k with this fool, I want the names and socials of everybody who bought a ticket now,” he jokingly added.

With Fiddy’s feelings on Ashanti’s frequent collaborator Ja Rule, it’s pretty clear why he’s going in on her over Instagram. Whenever he has an opportunity to clown anyone who he’s not fond of, he’ll take it regardless of the context.
Stony Brook University released a statement after the show was cancelled “As an organization, we do our best to host programs for students while providing diversity and inclusion. However, we have struggled to execute certain aspects. With only a week before the concert, only 24 tickets were sold to students.”
The school went on to explain they had originally booked Teyana Taylor for the gig but she pulled out last minute, leaving the organizers to scramble to properly promote Ashanti as the new headliner.

That’s embarrassing to sell that amount of tickets, it seems that people don’t want to pay to see Ashanti perform anymore, she’s almost forgotten as a performer. She hasn’t had a hit in a long time. However, Ashanti is currently working on a joint album with Ja Rule. Let’s hope she has better luck with album sales.
Leave a comment down below telling me your thoughts on Ashanti not selling. Is her career over?

Fight Night At The Staple Center
A brawl broke out in the fourth quarter during the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers game at the Staples Center on Friday night.
Houston Rockets’ guard Chris Paul and Los Angeles Lakers’ guard Rajon Rondo would exchange punches after the two engaged in a heated confrontation with Paul sticking his fingers in Rajon Rondo’s face.
Lakers’ forward Brandon Ingram would get involved by throwing a punch that appeared to land on Chris Paul during the ugly scene.
It’s not the first time Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo have been at odds with each other as the two had a postgame altercation back when Paul was a Hornet and Rondo was a Celtic.
At a dead ball stop after James Harden drew a foul while driving to the rim, tensions would quickly boil over at the 4:13 mark of the fourth quarter.
Brandon Ingram, frustrated by the foul call, would shove James Harden out of the way which drew a technical foul.
All three players were ejected from the game and will likely face suspensions for their roles.
