Shakira and J.LO Unite for a Throwback Masterpiece

Shakira and J.LO Unite for a Throwback Masterpiece

What makes the Superbowl such a huge event is the ability to bring something for everyone, and Superbowl LIV was no different. For the die-hard sports fans, it provides a perfect stage for the blow-off game of the season. As for everyone else, we get a chance to get sucked into the spectacle of the whole night. Including, of course, the Half-Time show. Taking the stage this year was none other than Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, a.k.a J.LO a far cry from Al Hirt, and marching bands from the University of Arizona and Grambling State University who perform for Super Bowl I in 1967.

Each performer brought their A+ game to the show, both highlighting their greatest hits from their long amazing careers.

Shakira started her performance by quickly reminding the audience that she found the secret to eternal youth because she has somehow not aged a day. Her music remains just as timeless, providing the perfect nostalgia hit, along with empowering messages. Shakira’s playlist included:

  • She Wolf
  • Empire
  • Whenever, Wherever
  • I Like It Like That, ft. Bad Bunny
  • Chantaje
  • Hips Don’t Lie
  • Waka Waka

Jennifer Lopez kept the momentum going with her performance, which calls for unity. All of J.LO’s songs fill you with pride for your heritage. The performance comes together with the striking visual of J.LO, along with her daughter, performing a rendition of “Born in the USA,” by Bruce Springsteen, while holding the Puerto Rican flag.

J.LO also brought her A-game with her own throwback playlist:

  • Jenny from the Block
  • Get Right
  • Waiting for Tonight
  • Love Don’t Cost a Thing
  • Mi Gente, ft J Balvin
  • On the Floor
  • Born in the USA, ft. daughter Emme Maribel Muniz
  • Let’s Get Loud

The hook throughout the week leading to the big event was two of the biggest Latina artist are coming together to light up the stage. With such a statement, the pressure was truly on for both Shakira and J.LO. While it is easy to say that they played it safe playing their greatest hits. It says a lot about their talent and the longevity of their music that despite not being the first time you heard these songs, you still feel the same excitement whenever performed.

2020 GRAMMY RESULTS- A HISTORICAL NIGHT FULL OF SURPRISES

2020 GRAMMY RESULTS- A HISTORICAL NIGHT FULL OF SURPRISES

The 2020 Grammy Awards has marked the 62nd aniversity of the yearly celebration of all things music. As par of the course for all award shows there were winners, and there were losers. This year is no different, and despite the flood of controversy, and the sudden tragic death of Kobe Bryant the Grammy still manage to deliver a few great surprises.

Billie Eilish’s History-Making Sweep

The biggest winner of the 2020 Grammy, of course, is none other than Billie Eilish. The 18-year-old singer conquered the award show by becoming the second artist in Grammy history to win an award for all four major categories on the same night (the first being Christopher Cross in 1981) nabbing the awards for best album, song, record, and best new artist. However, above all that she also became the first woman to win all major categories in one night in Grammy history. You may have your opinion on whether or not these awards are well earned,  however, this is an important milestone in the history of the awards and in the midst of all the controversy that affected the 2020 Grammy. This is a welcome surprise.

Tragedy Looming Over the Show

The sports world suffered a tragic loss as 41 year old, NBA Legend Kobe Bryant died alongside his daughter in a helicoper crash earlier on the same day as the award show. The NBA legend was given a tribute by the hosts Alicia Keys, alongside Boyz

Later on during the show, DJ Khaled and Nipsey Hussle, alongside John Legend won Best Rap/Sung Performance. During his speech DJ Khaled paid his respects for Nipsey Hussle who was tragically murder in front of his Marathon Clothing Store.

More Surprises

One of the best feel good moments of the night came from Tyler the Creator winning his first Grammy for Best Rap Album with his album IGOR.

Lizzo has become a bit of polarizing figure as of late, but one thing that can not be dennied is her amazing talent that should easily earn her any award. While she did walk away with a few awards for Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best Traditional R&B Performance, and Best Pop Solo Performance what muddles all these awards is that most of these awards are all occupaing the same space. In other words, despite all these awards it still feels that Lizzo was robbed.

Overall the 62nd aniversity of the Grammy, despite getting muddle by the controversy, and the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant the Grammy managed to pull of a passable show, highlighted by the history making sweep of Billie Eilish, but the controversial decision to not give Lizzo more awards proves that the Grammy is learning, but it still has a long way to go.

21 YEAR OLD JUICE WRLD PASSES AWAY IN CHICAGO AIRPORT EARLY THIS MORNING

21 YEAR OLD JUICE WRLD PASSES AWAY IN CHICAGO AIRPORT EARLY THIS MORNING

This morning millions of fans woke up to the shocking news that Juice WRLD passed away from suffering a seizure at Chicago’s Midway Airport early this morning. Everyone knows of the young talented artist from his first hit single “Lucid Dreams” which made it to the top of the charts in 2018.

According to the Chicago Fire Department, Chicago police, and the Cook County medical examiner’s office, the Interscope-signed artist whose real name is Jarad Anthony Higgins was pronounced dead at 3:14 a.m. after being rushed to Christ Medical Center in Oak LawnUnfortunately Juice WRLD suffered cardiac arrest, which occurred after a seizure.

Anyone that knew Juice knew he was overall a wonderful person and such a kind soul. Today we’re sending prayers to all of his friends and family during this difficult time.

What’s eerie about the tragic situation is about a month ago TikTok users did the Lucid Dream Challenge where they’d have pretend seizures and it went viral. What a coincidence it is that he passed away from the same cause. Crazy right? No one is sure if it had to deal with the pills or the lean he rapped about taking, but just know that nothing good can come out of being on either one in your 20’s. Its such shame that we’ve lost another rising rockstar in the game. May his soul Rest In Peace. You can check out and listen to our favorite album, Goodbye & Good Riddance from Juice WRLD here below.

SUMMER WALKER BOOED IN NEW JERSEY FOR NOT PERFORMING

SUMMER WALKER BOOED IN NEW JERSEY FOR NOT PERFORMING

XL night club was packed with Summer Walker’s fans last night for an official after party and they were not having it. A source told us that Walker was booked to host the event for an hour and perform 2-3 songs, but what her Jersey fans got was a huge let down. The promoter posted a video of the artist holding the microphone, barely lip syncing her own song like it was some sort of joke. I feel sorry for anyone that paid to see her, I know that if it were me- I’d be tight LOL. I’d probably boo her ass out the club just like everyone else did.

By looking at the contract the promoter posted, I’m assuming that this was a huge misunderstanding on Walker’s management’s part.

Truthfully, whether artists like it or not their entertainers. It’s their job to atleast interact with their fans. If you’re in front of a room filled with the ones that got you to where you are in the first place, wouldn’t you want to show love… that’s just bad character. What do some of y’all think? As “small” as Jersey may seem, mad heads were in the building to see you Summer. We get that you may not like touring and you Over It, but now Jersey is over you!
