Self Isolation is hard, but it is necessary. The hardest part, however, is what to do to keep yourself entertained. Some read books, others play video games, but if you’re Seth Rogen than you get high and watch Cats. That’s right, the famous comedy actor decided to pass the time by getting high and taking to Twitter.
Judi Dench is in a cat fur coat which I can only assume is socially APPALLING in this world.
Seth Rogen started to tweet about his whole experience watching Cats. Cats came out in 2019, and it is notorious for being one of the worst movies ever made. The movie featured A-list celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Idris Alba with CGI cat bodies. The movie is hard to watch, and I can’t even imagine watching it stoned, but Seth Rogen found a way.
The Marvel Netflix shows are always a sore spot for fans of the shows. On the one hand, the shows hit the ground running, with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage being amongst some of the best streaming shows on Netflix at the time. On the other hand, as the shows continued, they were plagued by terribly received second seasons. Also, the disappointing first season of Iron Fist, and The Defenders place the quality of the shows into question. Despite Marvel Netflix’s recovery with the amazing Daredevil season 3, and Punisher, what no one saw coming was Disney’s move into streaming. With the arrival of Disney+ all the Netflix Marvel shows started to get canceled, for a brief moment, you could not turn on the news without seeing an announcement that one of the shows got canceled.
While none of the shows were ever considered canon, fans always hoped that one quick rewrite and we would be able to see Jessica Jones argue with Iron Man. Making the Netflix shows canon never seemed to be in the cards, which is a shame because with shows such as Wanda Vision, and Falcom and Winters Soldier premiering in Disney+, new fans might not be able to the see some of the best performances in all of Marvel.
On his podcast Kevin Smith’s Fatman Beyond, Smith addressed the rumor of a Matt Murdock showing up in the next Spider-Man movie, hinting that Cox’s name has been floated around as a possibility. “I heard another piece of good fuckin’ news,” he said. “Did You hear that Spider-Man, the new Spider-Man movie, gonna have a lawyer in it? Charlie Cox, they’re bringing in as Matt Murdock. That’s been the rumor online and they say that’s like the one that like Marvel’s like god damn it how did that get out?”
Kevin Smith had access to insider information before, but as always, take any rumor with a grain of salt. As for why introduce Matt Murdock in Spiderman, in the comics Daredevil is famous for being Peter Parker’s lawyer, he was even introduced in the Spiderman (1994) cartoon as Peter’s lawyer. This connection is perfect, especially as Spiderman: Far From Home Ended with Peter’s identity coming out to the public via cameo of J. Jonah Jamerson.
What do you guys think? Is this the best way to reintroduce Daredevil into the MCU, or should the characters get another shot in Disney+?
AMC has announced that the company is closing its theater chain across the U.S. due to coronavirus concerns, creating a new market. Last week Disney announced that it is pushing the Disney+ release of Frozen II; the movie is now available to stream in Disney+. With the Coronavirus affecting gatherings of over 50, and as reported before affecting Box office results. Other studies started tackling the in-home streaming market by making a few of this year’s biggest hitters available for streaming earlier than expected.
Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), and The Gentleman have both moved their home video release dates to next Tuesday. This is a surprising move because Bird of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) theatrical run is still going with the movie raking up $2.1 million last weekend. Traditionally, a movie would spend around three months in theaters, before another few months would pass, and lining it up with another studio release the movie would start going on DVD to hype up the old movie, and the new release. Streaming changed the formula, as a movie that did not succeed in theaters would quickly be pushed to streaming in the hopes that it makes its money back.
Warner Bros.’s decision to move all the home release dates comes as a response to Universal’s decision to make The Hunt, The Invisible Man, and Emma available on streaming this coming weekend. However, the biggest game-changer comes from Universal’s announcement to release Troll 2: World Tour online while the movie hits theaters at the same time.

As the coronavirus spreads and communities are closing, this is a safe way to keep the audience safe while bringing in revenue for newer releases. This move could also solve the constant delays of movies such as Mulan, F9, and James Bond: No Time to Die, “NBCUniversal will continue to evaluate the environment as conditions evolve and will determine the best distribution strategy in each market when the current unique situation changes,” Jeff Shell, CEO of NBCUniversal, said in a statement Monday.
While the reasoning behind these moves might be tragic because of the Coronavirus, this is a massive game-changer. For the first time, audiences now have complete control of how they want to view the latest movies. It will be interesting to see how this will affect the summer movie box office and movies going forward.
For the second week in a row, Onward stayed number one in the box office earning $10.5 million over the weekend. This increases the overall earning of Pixar’s latest movie to a total domestic estimate of $60.3 million. I Still Believe, takes the second spot earning $9.5 million, and Bloodshot earned $9.3 million in its debut. While these are decent numbers, it is important to point out that Onward is the only movie to break $10 million this week. Onward‘s failure screams at a more significant issue that has affected the box office for the last few weeks; no one is going to the theater. As reported by Variety, this weekend is the lowest weekend box office in the last 20 years. Box office numbers have not been this low since Sept. 15 to 17 weekend in 2000, with a box office take of only $54.5 million.
What is important to understand about the movie industry is that as technology evolves, so do movies. As such movie budgets grow, the best example is Avengers: Endgame with a budget of $356 million, the movie grossed $2.8 billion, making it the highest-grossing film of all time beating James Cameron’s Avatar. Last year alone, there was the most significant number of movies to break the 1 billion mark, Aladin, Star Wars Rise of Skywalker, Toy Story 4, Captain Marvel, Frozen II, Lion King, and Avengers: Endgame. Overall, Disney had seven movies to break a billion dollars, jump one year later, and Onward bearly breaks $100 million. As we reported before the coronavirus has caused massive theater close-downs across multiple countries impacting the economy.
Kendrick Lamar has revealed he has a new project in the works, but it’s not what most fans were expecting. While most of us were hoping for a new album, Lamar has instead shared with us a teaser for his new company pgLang, with frequent collaborator Dave Free.
The Compton rapper made the announcement with a series of post as well as with a 4 minute visual mission statement. The short film is written and directed by Free and stars Lamar, Baby Keem, Yara Shahidi, and Jorja Smith, and features new music from Baby Keem, Florence Welch, and Kamasi Washington. “When you are identified with something your are not, it always leads to suffering and unhappiness,” a distorted voice tells us.
Upon visiting their website, we continue to learn that pgLang is a “service company,” specializing in music, film, television, art, books, and podcasts. Their mission is to deliver “stories that speak to many nations, many races, and many ages.” PgLang is a company comprised of writers, singers, directors, musicians, and producers that are breaking formats when building ideas to make them real.
“We embrace the idea of anarchy and challenges that make us stronger,” the statement continues “pgLang is focused on using our experiences, and nurturing our many collaborators, to build stories that are equally accessible and engaging and then fitting them within the best media.”
That is all Lamar has provided us with so far, but Free further explained that “in this overstimulated time, we are focused on cultivating raw expression from grassroots partnerships.”
The rumor mill is spinning again this time for Thor: Love and Thunder. The fourth Thor movie is set the shake up the formula bigger than Thor: Ragnarock did. Takai Watiti is back to direct the latest Thor movie, with a Natalie Portman returning (after being gone since Thor 2), and Tessa Thompson also returning as Valkyrie. The plot revolves around Valkyrie now in charge of Asgard, after Thor left to join the Guardians of the Galaxy, she is in search for a new queen.
While making the rounds to promote his new movie Bloodshot, Vin Diesel in an interview with Comicbook.com was ask if we would see the Guardians of the Galaxy in Thor: Love and Rock. He responded, “Thor will also, the director talked to me about Thor will incorporate some of the Guardians of the Galaxy,” Diesel told ComicBook.com. “That’ll be very interesting, nobody knows, maybe I shouldn’t have said anything.”

While this might not mean anything, it is important to point out that despite being called Thor: Love and Thunder, the movie centers around Valkyrie. However, in the comic, Jane (Natalie Portman’s character) took on the mantle of Thor, this could fit into the return of Jane in the movie. It is also important to point out that this would mark the first appearance of the Guardians after Avengers Endgame. The planed Guardians 3 was scrapped after director James Gunn was removed from the project. However, after fan backlash, Gunn returned to film the movie. As of now, there is no release date for the third Guardians, but James Gunn tweet wrapping up production on Suicide Squad 2 (a DC film). What do you guys think? Should the Guardians appear in Thor: Love and Rock, or should we wait for an actual stand-alone film.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to release November 5, 2021 and is directed by Taika Waititi. Starting Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Tessa Thompson
