According to sources, Nicki Minaj will reportedly be touring with Chris Brown this fall. This news comes only a day after Nicki parted ways with her longtime managers and Nicki and Chris Brown releasing a collaboration with G-Eazy called “Wobble Up”. With no formal tour destinations available, the news broke when New Jersey’s Prudential Center advertised that a show there on September 13 will feature Nicki and Chris Brown. Tickets for that show will be available April 26th.
New Jersey is not too far from The Queen’s hometown of Queens so I assume there are going to be many hardcore Nicki fans trying to snag tickets.
Cardi B rejected the plea deal over the 2018 altercation in a New York City strip club. She was dressed in all white, even including her sandals, and encompassed by security carrying umbrellas to protect her from the rain.
According to ABC 7 and The Blast, the deal involved Cardi pleading guilty to misdemeanor assault and reckless endangerment. This would include no jail time, and an end to the case. However her attorney, Jeff Kern, stated that she would not accept the deal.
The incident took place in August in which Cardi allegedly assaulted two bartenders, Baddie Gi and Jade, because she thought that one of them had had an affair with her husband and Migo, Offset. The bartenders claim that Cardi threw drinks and a hookah, and ordered her crew members to attack them.
I think that since Cardi rejected a deal that did not include jail time, she is probably innocent. She’s rolling with that usual confidence that’s likely increased because of her winning five Grammy’s, which Best Rap Album, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Danish rapper Sleiman is suing 6ix9ine and his label, 10k Projects for allegedly blocking a collaboration between the two artists. Sleiman says the collaboration is called “Red Bandnna [sic]/Black Hoodie.” He claims that he paid $100K for the feature and that 6ix9ine gave him the rights to the song.
When Sleiman finished making the song and tried to release, he was blocked by 10k Projects. Representative from the record label said that since 6ix9ine was featured on the track, the label owns the rights to the song.
Sleiman told the judge he wants ownership of the song and the money he paid 6ix9ine. Tekashi really needs to get his act together, that is, if he ever gets out of jail.
Travis Scott will have to pay the entertainment events company PJAM $382,932.79 for missing a Minnesota concert the day before the Super Bowl.
Travis’ lawyer Howard King told TMZ, “The jury verdict of $383k is disappointing, but far less than the seven figure demands made by the promoters. We believe the verdict will be substantially reduced or overturned in subsequent proceedings.”
A source close to Travis told TMZ that he decided not to perform hours before the show “due to weather and logistics”. Travis had also just finished his Astroworld tour and his child Stormi with Kylie Jenner was born.
Around 400K is nothing to sneeze at, even if you’re Travis Scott. Travis, according to Forbes, is worth $22 million so this lawsuit will cost him 2% of his total wealth. Lucky for him, he’s dating the youngest self-made billionaire.
Brooklyn rapper Nicki Minaj has cut ties with longtime managers Gee Roberson and Cortez Bryant and Blueprint/Maverick Management. Sources close to the situation have reported that the partnership had ended “amicably” . Other sources report that it happened before Nicki’s Coachella performance with Ariana Grande this past weekend.
Nicki has had a rough time recently. Along with technical issues in that Coachella performance, she had to cancel multiple shows during her European tour because of technical difficulties. Nicki has also been feuding with Cardi B, and got some heat for collaborating with 6ix9ine, who had been facing charges for, among other things, involving a minor in a sexual performance.
I hope to see things turn around for Nicki and maybe new managers can jumpstart that process. Let us know what you think in the comments.
According to a vigilant fan on Reddit, Jaden Smith has officially dropped his last name on streaming services, YouTube, and more. Jaden has not officially commented on the change. Smith, I’m sorry I mean Jaden, has been trying to distance himself from living in the shadow of his father, Will Smith. That distancing was one of the topics in his lyrics on his album, Syre and this changing of his stage name is clearly one concrete way to do that. However, some would argue that Jaden should embrace his father’s name and use his background as a way to increase popularity.
Let’s be honest, how much will Jaden dropping part of his stage name really change his popularity at this point? He’s already really, really big and his first name, Jaden, is memorable in of itself. Also, he is already one of the first suggestions that drops down when you type “jad” into the search bar, which would have been true regardless if he dropped “Smith”. But that’s also an argument against dropping the last name because, since Jaden’s so big, he doesn’t need to distance himself from his father anymore and that it will just be a hassle to have to remember that he dropped it.
Another possible objection to the name drop is that because “Smith” is the stereotypical common last name, keeping and exploring that could lead to some interesting artistic statements. I know that this is a little abstract, but I’m thinking something along the lines of Jaden Smith expressing in his lyrics about him trying to either break from being normal, or become normal. Just an idea Jaden, so let me know if you want to use it.
To be fair, dropping his last name is certainly better than if he dropped his first name.
