Winter is here, but music is coming. The “Game Of Thrones” Twitter account posted a video that announced a “GOT” inspired album titled “For The Throne” will be dropping on April 26. The video rattled off a list of names that will be featured on the record including A$AP Rocky, Ellie Goulding, Joey Bada$$, Lil Peep, The Lumineers, Maren Morris, Mumford & Sons, The National and a few others.
The album will also feature a new song from SZA, The Weeknd, and Travis Scott. The songs on the album will be independent from the show, meaning they won’t appear on the show, they are just inspired by the music from Thrones.
It’s quite an intriguing combination of artists on the list that was announced, piquing my interest on the album. There is not an official track list at this time, but something to keep an eye out for in the coming days.
Kevin Abstract posted a video on YouTube that looks like a teaser for his new solo project. The Brockhampton front man has been releasing small video teasers on his twitter account over the past few weeks, promoting the release of his album that appears to be titled “ARIZONA baby.”
Abstract is best known for his work in his collaborative boy band Brockhampton, but has also venuted into solo work as well. His last solo release was back in 2016, when he released his album “American Boyfriend: A Surburban Love Story,” putting the young rapper into the mainstream and public eye.
There isn’t an official release date for the album yet, but Abstract posted on his Instagram page last night a set of dates, which would appear to be days for new singles. The D.I.Y. Los Angeles rapper is known for pumping out music quickly, with this album marking his seventh total project in just three years. His last release was with Brockhampton, titled “Iridescence,” which dropped last September.
The first single should be dropping on Thursday so be on the watch for new music.

Lil Nas X finally got his way to the top. On the latest Billboard charts, the viral sensation “Old Town Road” is officially sitting alone as the number one song. The young Atlanta rapper has seen a meteoric rise to fame when his country-trap hit track started to gain traction on the social media platform Tik Tok.
The song started to get so popular, that it started making its way to both hip-hop and country radio stations. As a result of the popularity, that it made it all the way to number 18 on the country charts before it was controversially removed for “not having enough country elements.” This sparked a conversation online and in the media on what exactly the criteria is to be designated a country song.
Lil Nas X didn’t falter when his track was pulled from the country charts. Instead, he enlisted country music icon Billy Ray Cyrus to step into the booth and make a remix version of the monster hit. The remix created even more noise around the original song, propelling it all the way to number one on the Billboard charts.

The song and the remix are both number one and two on the Spotify top 50 charts. Texas Tech used the track as a rally cry and victory song on their march to the college basketball national championship. It’s number one on the charts and is the hottest song in the world, Lil Nas X is a rapper to watch moving forward.

Guitarist Steve Lacy posted on IG the cover his upcoming solo project titled N Side. Lacy is one of the hottest young talents in music today, who was recently featured on “Sunflower” by Vampire Weekend. His last solo project, Steve Lacy’s Demos, was an indie hit and launched the young Lacy into the mainstream.
There isn’t official word on the other solo album, but it’s figured to either be Syd or Matt Martians. The group has said in the past that they are going to release a series of solo projects first before they jump back into making music together as a band, so don’t expect any new Internet tracks anytime soon.
