Lil Yachty and Chance The Rapper teamed up for a freestyle that dropped on SoundCloud late last night. The song is a fusion between the Atlanta and Chicago natives coming to together over a trap beat. Lil Yachty had a ton of songs leak onto the internet yesterday, but this is the one that brandishes the most star power.
I talked to friend about this song upon its release and asked what his thoughts were. His response was positive, in fact, he described the song perfectly without wasting any words. “It’s just rapping,” he said. A lot of rapping on this song. I didn’t think it would be possible to have so much rapping on a three minute song, but here we are. This is track is pure rap.

Kevin Abstract dropped a brand new, three song EP late last night titled ARIZONA baby. The EP was produced by longtime Brockhampton member Romil Hemnani and multi-faceted musician Jack Antonoff. It’s Abstract’s first solo project since 2016.
Abstract has been teasing music for the past few weeks, posting videos and samples from new tracks on his Twitter and Instagram. What was initially thought to be a date for singles, it seems like Abstract will be releasing a set of EP’s over the next two weeks. He posted on his Instagram account a picture of new cover art for what is expected to be his next release titled Ghettobaby.
Never a stranger to surprised releases, Abstract is always up to something when it comes to making new music. His collaboration with Jack Antonoff marks another milestone for the young L.A. based rapper as his sound continues to evolve with every new track. His new EP has three tracks titled “Big Wheels,” “Joy Ride,” and “Georgia” available on all streaming platforms.

The final two singles from Vampire Weekend were released earlier today. The band released “This Life” and “Unbearably White” as the final batch of songs for the ramp up to their fourth studio album Father Of The Bride.
The band’s album is due out on May 3 and marks the first project since 2013. The group has released two music videos for their prior singles “Harmony Hall” and “Sunflower,” so it would be safe to assume that there will be one more visual out of this batch.

A new ScHoolboy Q track was released briefly on Spotify before being pulled titled “CHopstix.” ScHoolboy played a small bit of the track during his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon a few weeks ago, but not the whole song. The single from ScHoolboy’s new album also features Travis Scott, who handles the chorus on this one.
This release is the second single for the LA rapper’s album rollout and the follow up to “Numb Numb Juice.” This one is way more laid back than the aforementioned track, with a little spacier sounding production. It’s a smooth track all the way through, I just wish ScHoolboy let Travis do something more than just the hook.
The track release is a bit of surprise considering ScHoolboy had said earlier in the week, he didn’t want to release new music as he mourns the loss of fellow rapper and friend Nipsey Hussle. The track must have been a scheduled release on Spotify and wasn’t pulled down in time. It’s no longer available on Spotify, but it is on the YouTube link above.

Anderon .Paak dropped a new video for his single “Make It Better” off his upcoming album Ventura. .Paak has kept himself busy lately, with this new project slated just five months after his previous release. This new track is a bit of a throwback to Malibu era .Paak; way more rhythmic and soulful than some stuff that’s been on previous records.
.Paak is at his best when he’s making songs that are light on the ears, not that he isn’t capable of making a good rap song, it’s just a more refreshing vibe to have tracks like this one. This new single sounds like it could easily be a Bruno Mars song, but .Paak is able to put his own spin onto it.
.Paak is slated to play Coachella in the next few weeks, as well as more tour dates that run through the end of June. His album Ventura is set to be released on April 12.

Lil Nas X is making a play to get his viral hit “Old Town Road” back on the country Billboard charts by enlisting the help of country music icon Billy Ray Cyrus. Rolling Stone reported that the pair are working on a remixed version of the country trap hit, in an attempt to legitimize the song as a country record.
The song was removed from the country charts last week, amongst claims that the song did not contain enough country music elements. The controversy sparked some outrage over social media, as fans were adamant that the song was, in fact, a country song.
Billy Ray Cyrus stepped out in support of the Atlanta rapper with an Instagram post, deeming the song credible as a country track. Miley Cyrus sounded off in the comments, displaying her own excitement for the remix. The new song is set to be released sometime later today.
