[Music] ScHoolboy Q Debuts New Song on Jimmy Fallon

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDMmoiMyRZ4

Last night, rapper ScHoolboy Q appeared on Jimmy Fallon to perform music from his forthcoming album. His performance was a medley of songs, including his already released single “Numb Numb Juice,” as well as a new song titled “Chopstix”, which features Travis Scott.

Travis was not present for the performance despite the song centralizing around his hook. It’s a classic Travis feature, an autotune refrain over a mellow beat, with a ScHoolboy verse in between. There isn’t a full length version of the song yet, so for now we only have a small snippet from this performance.

ScHoolboy announced at the end of the performance that his album is coming “very, very soon.” No date or title for the album has been leaked or announced so keep your eyes peeled for this new project.

[Music] NEW VIDEO: Lil Skies- Stop The Madness feat. Gunna

[Music] NEW VIDEO: Lil Skies- Stop The Madness feat. Gunna

Lil Skies dropped a new video for his song “Stop The Madness” fresh off his new record Shelby. The song features Gunna, who also makes an appearance in the video that dropped this morning.

The video reps an all white aesthetic, that seems to take place in that’s most likely a psych ward. On this track, Skies sticks to the central themes of other Soundcloud rappers before him, rapping about his ascent into the industry, the fake people around him and flexing his money.

Personally it’s not my cup of tea as far as music goes. I do think the Gunna feature makes the song less stale and brings a bit more live to the song on the back end, it’s just a daunting task to listen to a sound that isn’t all that original in the current culture. Everything seems too cookie cutter, including the video.

[Music] Madlib Plays Unreleased Mac Miller, Thunercat Song

[Music] Madlib Plays Unreleased Mac Miller, Thunercat Song

Producer Madlib released a snippet of an unreleased Mac Miller song at a show this past weekend. The clip is only about a minute long, but we get to hear some new bars from the late Pittsburgh rapper.

As a Mac Miller stan, this is really exciting that there may be more music stored away that can come out some time down the line. The sound of this track seems to be a bit of a departure from the stuff that was released on “Swimming” and sounds a bit more like something that would have come out on “GO:OD AM.”

The snippet that was played was a perfect display of the maturation of Mac. He’s rapping with confidence in both his lyrics and voice; he had finally figured out who he was as an artist. It’s not really a tangible factor or one certain thing that he is doing differently, you can just tell how laser focused he was just by listening.

Hopefully this unreleased music makes it’s way to the public, the world still needs to hear Mac Miller. He wasn’t finished yet, not by a long shot.

[Music] New Travis Scott Song Leaks on Soundcloud

[Music] New Travis Scott Song Leaks on Soundcloud

A new Travis Scott track leaked onto Soundcloud late last night titled “Love It Mane.” Scott has had a series of songs leak onto the online streaming platform before, so this isn’t any indication that a new project is in the works.

The track itself is an embodiment of what makes Travis Scott so damn good. He’s never going to blow you away with his lyrics, but his vocals and production are what makes the song bump. It sounds a little like a blend of “Graduation” and “808’s and Heartbreaks” era Kanye, a layered production throughout the song, some autotune on vocals, and a nice, catchy refrain. This song could easily be a top 100 hit if Scott puts it into a full length project, hell, I would even take a mixtape of leftover tracks from him at this point. Really liked this one a lot. Let’s be hopeful that more tracks are on the way.

Travis is still performing on his “Wish You You Were Here” tour and has dates that run all the way through early April, with some festival dates that go into the summer.
