The “Bartier Cardi” music video just dropped on April 2nd, 2018 and it is everything you hoped for. Although fans are saying that the concept is confusing, it is easy to figure out once you do some digging.
Check out the video here:
The video shows a different side to Cardi. In the video, she isn’t showing her bubbly personality but instead one that is more serious and sexy. The first clip shows her in a pin-up red outfit on a television show that sends you back to a time where women were heavily sexualized for male’s enjoyment. But instead of being an object, she is shown to be a powerful woman. Then there are various shots of women in power getting money. The video centers around women running the show while men sit there and are hypnotized by them. The music video has a lot of outfit changes which are insanely beautiful. Then she is shown on the hood of a car in a huge fur coat then transitions to her in the car with her finance, Offset from the group Migos. She is shown in a crystal dress while kissing Offest, which gives the video a sexy feel. 21 Savage makes an appearance in the video and is shown being hypnotized by the women in the video. The next scene she is shown in a white dress killing her verse.
Soccer Mommy is an upcoming indie band that knows how to capture their aesthetic perfectly in music videos.
Their new music video for “Cool” is certainly cool.

Released last week, March 27th, 2018– it has gained a lot of traction. Although she is in college now, she brings it back to a lot of high school themes and angst, which we all still probably feel. The first scene is shot on a field that seems like it is a part of a high school. Filmed on a soccer field, she definitely is becoming her self-fulfilled prophecy a soccer mommy. The next scene pans to a lighter scene with the band playing on a bright yellow backdrop, along with her pink eyeliner. She is shown at a desk, probably overthinking about her crush. The slow pace of this song really shows how much she is truly overthinking and longing for this guy to like her, while not knowing how to go about it.
The last scene shows her in more makeup dancing with some male friends, which means she has achieved her goal of being a cool girl. She is singing about being cool but it seems like she is the cool girl. I wouldn’t want to play Sophie Allison if I was you.
Cardi B has been one of the best new artists of 2017. Her hit “Bodak Yellow” sent her to instant stardom. After the song, she began being featured on other songs including “MotorSport” featuring the Migos and Nicki Minaj. She started associating herself with the big players in the industry and made a name for herself. She released “Bartier Cardi” which was a great song that showed that she wasn’t just a one-hit wonder. She was one of the most unexpected but needed artists of 2017. So what can we expect from her debut album? Well, we were expecting more than this.
Cardi B’s albumInvasion of Privacy will be dropping this Friday, April 6th, 2018. She has teased the album with some song releases and the latest is “Drip” featuring the Migos. It was released last night and of course, we went to listen to it to see if she could give us more than the letdown, “Be Careful.”
Listen to “Drip” here:
The cover art looks dope, but it doesn’t make up for the pure ridiculousness of this song. How did the Migos- the biggest breakout stars of 2016 and 2017- make a song that sounds so cringe-worthy? Maybe Offset is really pissed off at Cardi for “Be Careful”- I would be too. The song starts off with the chorus that goes, “came through dripping- DRIP DRIP” and then the Migos say “ICE” in the background track. It seems like it was written in ten minutes in the back of a car. The laziness really does shine through. Also, the theme of diamonds on her wrist has been very overplayed. The highlight of this song is Cardi’s verse which seems to be a recurring theme on her tracks. Her verses are good but the songs seem to be poorly executed. She really should have spent more time working on this album because it seems to be thrown together at the last second. The Migos then recycle their typical verses and the song ends- finally.
Overall, I guess we will all have to make our final judgments when the album is released, but it doesn’t seem promising.
I can’t wait till Invasion of Privacy comes out .First is a big relieve ,second i want people to see different sides of me and I’m just really proud of the work that was put in this album❤️
