Team ONLY up next son! Who wanna bet? S.K.Y. unleashed another exciting freestyle lastnight and this time he’s celebrating Philadelphia’s new Super Bowl Champions. What’s dope is that S.K.Y. spit over his uncle, Mr. Reeze’s hit song “Put Ya Hands Up” featuring Jeff Lake from back in the day.
This is definitely a different sound from him, and even though I don’t rep the Eagles- I dig it. Check out S.K.Y. on Instagram (@Onlysuave) and tune into his Soundcloud to hear some of that other real sh*t he got. Keep an eye out for the young soulful rapper, he’s got some serious hits just chilling in his vault.
Florida rapper Kodak Black just dropped “Erykah Badu“, another new freestyle. Once I heard the beat drop, to “On & On” and I instantly knew he was gonna rip this. But, after listening throughout the whole thing I honestly expected it to be a lot better… Something along the lines of the Game and Kendrick Lamar’s version “On Me” . This guy is wreck less, but he’s got some bangers.
What a week for Travis Scott. Just days ago and Kylie Jenner officially announced the birth of their baby girl, and now he’s uploaded a new unheard record on SoundCloud, titled “Too Many Chances“. I can’t wait for his long-awaited AstroWorld album to come out. It’s going to be insane.
Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley rolled out the official music video for his song “Colors“. I’m not a big fan, but everyone’s talking about this clip. Check it out.
The sound is unlike any other, except all the bands that have copied them. Their most popular song, “Electric Feel” makes the listener instantly want to dance and move to the beat. “Time to Pretend” off their first album captures the emotion of happiness in only four minutes. The sound of MGMT really brings the listener into a different reality. Their pure talent to tap into people’s subconscious shot them to instant success, and success that was rightfully deserved. When someone hears, “MGMT” they don’t think of a band, but icons.

The music video for “When You Die” is one of the most creative videos I have seen in a long time. It starts off as a normal scene and then breaks off into multiple colors and graphics. These trippy visuals go along with the playfulness of the song. The sign of a great music video is giving another meaning to the song to enhance it, and MGMT is always putting out great content to add to their discography.
Their stand out song “Little Dark Age” excites me because they are going into a different sound while still maintaining their roots. There seems to be more lyrical content than the instrumentals on this record. This is a cool new direction that I am liking. I am prepared for this to be their best album to date. The gothic style in this video is very fitting and I hope they explore dark themes throughout the album. Overall, the first few tracks have blown my mind, so I expect February 9th to be a great day for the music world. Thank you MGMT for blessing us with another album.
