Whether you like it or not, Eazy-E was one of the most influential figures in gangsta rap. As a member of N.W.A. and even a solo Artist, he was a star. Argue with me if you want, he was unf*ckwitable with his over the top rhymes and charisma. Not only that, his records sold everywhere. After dropping out of high school and selling drugs, Eazy changed the game and started his own record label, Ruthless Records. Ruthless Records was ran by him and partner Jerry Heller and soon they discovered amazing talents Ice Cube and Dr. Dre. It wasn’t until 1987 that the group released their first album titled, N.W.A. and the Posse. This album didn’t do anywhere as good as their second album which came out the following year Straight Outta Compton. Being one of the most controversial albums at the time, this blew them up like crazy. Later on that year in 1988, E did his thing and released a solo project on his own titled Eazy-Duz-It which sold over 2 million copies.
After N.W.A‘s breakup, unfortunately Eazy-E became diagnosed with AIDS in 1995, and passed away shortly after. 23 years ago on this day in history Eazy-E passed away and fans still continue to bump his records till this day. R.I.P. Eazy-E aka the “Godfather of Gangsta Rap”, you are gone but not forgotten!
Check out some of my favorite jams from him. These right here are straight timeless!
For the last few months, there has been a heated lawsuit that was affecting the music world. Radiohead sued Lana Del Rey over writing credits on her Lust for Life track “Get Free.” The songs were pretty similar so it was a case that took a few weeks to fully work out.
Listen to the similarities here if you haven’t already:
“Now that my lawsuit’s over, I guess I can sing that song anytime I want, right?”
Watch her performance here:

Radiohead’s publishers stated:
Overall this lawsuit has been so confusing and attracted bad publicity for both the artists. I don’t get why they keep releasing different statements because I thought that Radiohead was pursuing the lawsuit. There is so much drama in Hollywood. I am glad that Lana gets to sing her song again because it was one of the highlights of her album. We can’t really un-hear the similarities in both their songs, so I wish that Radiohead would have won this lawsuit. I don’t think anything can take down Lana Del Rey that this point in her career.
Although Rich The Kid will be dropping his album on Friday, he’s got a new song for us titled “Dead Friends.” Check the track out below.

Chance the Rapper has not been very happy recently. A lot of celebrities have made it their duty to use their platform for good. Chance recently called out Heineken for their apparently racist commercial.
The advertisement he is fighting against is Heineken’s campaign whos tagline is “Sometimes, lighter is better.” Chance told them that it was horribly racist.
He took to Twitter to call out the company for the racist ad:
I think some companies are purposely putting out noticably racist ads so they can get more views. And that shit racist/bogus so I guess I shouldn’t help by posting about it. But 😂 I gotta just say tho. The “sometimes lighter is better” Hienekin commercial is terribly racist omg

Im not saying boucott them or go off im just noticing how often it happens and I think they baiting consumers and tweeters and freelancers and shit. Like I didnt wanna tweet about it so bad 😂😂 but its like how can u not
— Chance The Rapper (@chancetherapper) March 26, 2018
He even believes it was placed so that the company could get publicity. Not to say anything but calling them out does create publicity?
You can watch it here
The ad displays a bartender seeing a woman who is in need of a beer and then slides it over to her. Since the bottle is so light it slides past a couple of people until the tagline, “Sometimes, lighter is better.”
Honestly, I don’t know what is so racist about the ad besides the poorly worded phrase. The beer is a light beer and it is shown not carrying a lot of weight. The meaning is not racist and someone who is watching would never even question that implication. But hey, some people find it offensive but I don’t think it was meant to be taken this literally. We might just have to all calm down.
When someone’s favorite band breaks up, fans typically spend weeks crying and begging for them to get back together. If you aren’t that dramatic, well you probably just feel sad. Then after the band gives a statement about the breakup, fans react with anger and confusion- even though the band has clearly stated they are no longer making music. It doesn’t just stop there, some fans won’t give up and continue to tweet the members years later. Some singers even have to release countless statements that they are still broken up, despite rumors.
Fans collectively have to stop blaming these bands for breaking up and annoying the members and everyone involved. They are so shocked when they break up, but they have to learn to channel their anger in a better way and not act out FOR YEARS.
First, they broke up for a reason, they probably were having some inner turmoil and couldn’t produce an album they were proud of. Would you rather have a band break up or put out a shitty album? These bands want to break up when they are still good so they leave that impression in people’s hearts.
I’ll give you an example to prove my point. For years, My Chemical Romance has been broken up. They broke up March 22nd, 2013 and people still harass the lead singer Gerard Way til this day, even though he is working on his solo projects and has put out a full-length album, Hesitant Alien. They broke up because the members were at completely different points in their life and there was no space to create an album that had “flare.” They were just recycling old ideas at that point. They couldn’t top their last work, which was Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. This album was more primarily pop sounding which was a lot different from the true punk rock album that was The Black Parade. They only saw themselves growing more away from their original image, so they decided to end the band.
People still are pissed five years later.
Listen to Gerard Way rationally explain why My Chemical Romance broke up:
Overall people need to understand that the members that make up these bands are people too. When bands feel like they cannot produce an album that they are proud of, they want to keep up their image and leave it on a good note. Fans need to appreciate the music without feeling like it is a personal attack. Sometimes things don’t work out but it doesn’t mean you can’t appreciate the time it was there.
