[NEW ALBUM] TEKASHI 6IX9INE – “DAY69”

New York City rapper Tekashi 6IX9INE‘s new debut album release was all the hype just a week ago. Numerous fans were souped to hear it, but now that it’s out, everyone seems to have changed their minds. Although 6IX9INE is known for dropping hits, he let everyone down this time. Lol besides his hit singles that were already out, (that fans seem to love) the entire remainder of his Day69 album was trash.

Listen to the project and see for yourself.

APPLE MUSIC VS. SPOTIFY

Spotify and Apple Music has always been in a battle over which one was going to die out and which one was going to prosper.

Spotify launched October 2008 while Apple Music launched in 2015. Spotify came up with the idea of streaming music long before Apple even got on the train. Spotify is a huge competitor who saw the shift to streaming way before it was even popular. But Apple Music is a huge competitor and seems to be coming up big.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple Music is growing at over twice the rate of Spotify. Apple Music’s U.S. subscribers are increasing steadily by 5 percent per month, versus Spotify’s 2 percent.

Will Apple Music take over Spotify’s rain?

But the international numbers are slightly different. Since September, Apple Music has gone from 30 million global subscribers to 36 million in 115 countries while Spotify is only available in 61 countries and has 70 million global subscribers last month. One point for Spotify.

These two companies that offer the same service seem to be in a predicament. They must figure out what is going to set themselves apart from each other, and do so in a way that doesn’t take away from the primary function of the streaming site.

I am happy that Apple is losing the battle right now. They need to humble themselves down a little. But they have a lot of fuel to their fire since Spotify severely brought their business down on iTunes. I expect these two will continue to fight until someone goes down. Let’s get our popcorn and see how it all plays out.

All hail Spotify!

LIL YACHTY IS SET TO RELEASE MUSIC IN TWO WEEKS

Lil Yachty really showed up on the scene with his release of Lil Boat in 2016. It propelled him to stardom and put out a few other projects within that time.

He told his fans on February 20th that his squeal to this record is entitled Lil Boat 2 and it is to be released on March 9th, 2018.

He also released the cover art which shows him in the water during the sunset, looking pretty fine.

The shot was done by Mihailo Andic and he certainly had an eye for creativity. I like the contrast of this shot from Lil Boat.

Here is the Lil Boat cover art:

The Lil Boat cover art shows a picture of a man sailing away on a small boat, while in Lil Boat 2′s cover art it shows him in the water fully embracing it. It seems like he doesn’t need a boat anymore when he is not afraid to sink. I feel like this is foreshadowing the content that is going to be on the album and I’m excited. He may be playing with a lot more darker themes.

In this album, he hinted at having collaborations with Glacier Boyz, Gucci Mane, and Migos. Based on the features and the cover art, I think this is going to be one of his best works.

Mark your calenders for March 9th!
