Last night at his Tallahassee show, JID payed tribute to late rapper Mac Miller. JID and Miller were slated to go on tour this past fall before the untimely and tragic death of the Pittsburgh rapper. The death of Mac Miller sent shockwaves throughout the music community and his fans, leaving everyone to remember and reminisce on his artistry and the impact he left on the world as a person.
A fan at the show shot the video of JID playing “Come Back To Earth,” a song off of Miller’s final album “Swimming.” Fans can be heard singing along to the song while JID stood on stage, quietly singing along, looking as if he were still mourning his friend’s passing.
After each of his shows, JID has been playing Miller’s NPR Tiny Desk Concert, a show put on by artists at the NPR offices, meant to create a more intimate, relaxed show. It’s a classy move by the Atlanta rapper and something that his fans clearly appreciate. Be sure to watch the Tiny Desk Concert, it’s worth your attention and time.

This weekend looks pretty light on the new album front, but there are new singles being dropped left and right by multiple different artists. Anderson .Paak is pumping out new music and has a single being dropped tonight titled “King James” off of his new album “Ventura.”
The new single from the Cali hip-hop star leaked early and was posted to YouTube earlier today. The lyrics from the song covers some topical subject matter, like Colin Kaepernick kneeling for the national anthem, the infamous border wall being built, and obviously LeBron James, highlighting his positive influence amongst the public, specifically the youth.
The leak is not a complete version of the track, it lacks some bits at the beginning and end, but it sounds like a vintage .Paak song. It comes with a funky baseline and vibrant, warm sounding horns, that seem to always place you in California.
Along with the announcement of the new single, .Paak announced via Twitter the album artwork, tracklist, and list of features on the record.
Tracklist
Come Home ft. André 3000
Make It Better ft. Smokey Robinson
Reachin’ 2 Much ft. Lalah Hathaway
Winners Circle
Good Heels ft. Jazmine Sullivan
Yada Yada

Chosen One ft. Sonyae Elise
Jet Black ft. Brandy
Twilight

ScHoolboy Q is back. Earlier today, ScHoolboy dropped a new single titled “Numb Numb Juice” along with a new music video. It’s been three years since he last dropped new music, but based off this song he hasn’t missed a beat.
The track comes in at just under two minutes with Q spitting over a heavy beat. It’s a stripped back, pure rap song that isn’t here to play into any kind of pop influence, yet it’s really catchy.
The music video is excellent and is filled with references, most notably the homage to Elon Musk for when he smoked weed on The Joe Rogan Experience. He even nailed the eyebrow raise.
ScHoolboy brings along some guests on the video featuring both Tyler the Creator and Ma$e. Tyler recreates a scene from the 1998 movie “Belly” and Ma$e dons the famous red jumpsuits from the “Mo Money Mo Problems” video alongside ScHoolboy.
This release should begin the rollout of ScHoolboy’s fifth studio album. There are no details on when more music is coming, but it’s something to keep an eye on moving forward.
