[NEW MUSIC] NICKI MINAJ – “BARBIE TINGZ” & “CHUN-LI”

STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING and tune into these two Nicki Minaj songs that just dropped. “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li” have been buzzing all over the internet, and her fans are losing their minds. As a real Nicki fan myself, I honestly can’t agree. I won’t lie I fell into the hype at first, but after listening I was a bit upset. I expected a lot more. I prefer “Barbie Tingz” over the other, and so would any true Nicki fan. Check them out and tell me what YOU think. Nicki’s a veteran and been in this game for years, she gotta represent!

[NEW MUSIC- “PYNK”] GRIMES AND JANELLE MONAE ARE THE ULTIMATE INDIE DUO

“A deep well” of new music might be coming from the indie electro-pop goddess Grimes soon!

She recently posted an Instagram that stated:

She has a new song with her long-term friend and consistent creative partner Jonelle Monáe.

Grimes has taken a break from music for a while to apparently screw her head back on, but the album will be coming soon.

She wrote in a comment that she,

“can finish [the album] fast and I have a deep well of shit this time, like sooooo many songs so after my album, I’ll be able to consistently release more music.”

I’m glad that her project is off the ground and the controversy with her label has settled down- she did, in fact, call them shit.

She apologized by saying:

“A lot of insane shit went down and I’m reorienting my whole life,” she wrote, adding “bahaha.”

I hope Grimes is okay! The most beautiful things can be made during your darkest times.

[THE VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS] THE “AMERICAN BOY BAND” BROCKHAMPTON

BROCKHAMPTON is a rap group that is not afraid to test the limits and cause controversy. Packed with great lines, impactful lyrics and controversial topics- their music says so much more than just a simple track. They switch it up from hard rap to light R&B ballads on their tracks which keeps the listeners on their toes.

They got their start in 2015 when they prevailed as winners of the VFILES Loud! Talent search in San Marcos, Texas. The members consist of Kevin Abstract (Ian Simpson), Matt Champion, Romil Hemnani, JOBA (Russell Boring), Dom McLennon (Dominique Simpson), Ameer Vann, and Merlyn Wood (William Wood).

They actually prefer the term “American boy band” rather than “rap group” which puts a funny spin on their image. They are collectively a compelling group that works with multiple graphics and visuals for their music videos to show their zany and childish spirit. They also dive into topics such as sexuality, which is typically taboo in the rap community. Not only are they talented, they are a voice for the voiceless, talking about the struggle of being a gay man.

They are basically Odd Future but better

They released their first mixtape All-American Trash in March 2016. Their full-length album Saturation arrived a year later in 2017. They didn’t wait long to release the sequel Saturation II in the summer of that year.

Their biggest success was the release of their album, Saturation III– the last installment of the series and it was their highest charting album to date. It peaked at 15 on the Billboard 100 and at the top five on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart.
