Many Americans are outraged after finding out that the Trump administration has thrown tear gas into Mexico to target a group of migrants, that included both women and children, trying to rush a border fence.
The chaos broke out on Sunday around the San Ysidro border crossing, which, Homeland Security Secretary, Kristjen Nielson has stated was closed “to ensure public safety in response to large numbers of migrants seeking to enter the U.S. illegally.” According to the Washington Post, Trump officials state that authorities had to respond with force after hundreds of migrants rushed the border near Tijuana, which included some of them throwing projectiles at customs and border protection personnel.
The, now viral, pictures that have surfaced the internet tell a different narrative, and this is the one many Americans, Democratic leaders, and human rights advocates choose to focus on. Many of these pictures portray children gagging from the result of the gas while mothers attempt to rush their young offspring to safety. Many individuals pointed out that this is only evidence “that Trump’s push against a caravan of asylum seekers from central America had gone too far.”
Tom Perez, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, has tweeted that “shooting tear gas at children is not who we are as Americans,” he continued the post saying “seeking asylum is not a crime. We must be better than this.” Perez is not the only official who felt this way about the news. Gavin Newsom, the Democratic governor-elect of California chimed in on this issue stating “These Children are barefoot. In diapers. Choking on tear gas.” He continued his tweet “Women and Children who left their lives behind – seeking peace and asylum – were met with violence and fear,” he argued stating “that’s not my America. We’re a land of refuge. Of hope. Of freedom. And we will not stand for this.”
Many others made it a point to note on twitter that these families crossing the border were seeking refuge from violent conditions in Central America.
Many supporters of the Trump administration argued that migrants could avoid being tear-gassed by not trying to cross the border illegally and hurling objects at the border patrols. Monday Morning President Trump released a tweet threatening to close the border permanently, which could potentially conflict with asylum laws. According to Yale Law School’s Harold Hongju Koh, everyone crossing the Southern border is not “illegally present,” he continued stating “those with valid asylum claims have every right to assert those claims and remain.”
The images that have surfaced are truly heartbreaking and makes you really think if this is the what America has come to, like the democratic officials have stated our country needs to do better. Be sure to comment down below your thoughts and opinions on the issue.
Many joked at the shocked fans who were obviously not familiar with what a Jill Scott concert entailed. For example Questlove who jokingly addressed the shocked fans as “newbies” because they clearly didn’t know that many of Scott’s songs were sexually explicit.
Scott even took to social media to address some of the negative comments. The Why Did I Get Married actress stated “Hi I sing/act out all kinds of stories. You should cum to my shows. After a Jill Scott show, most people get splendidly laid by whoever they came with.”
The singer added the next morning that whoever captured the video missed the point also making it known that she has not changed and has always been her, this is nothing new.
This did not stop fans from breaking out the gifs and jokes all over twitter. A picture that constantly surfaced in relation to the Scott video was a picture of different individuals dressed as a microphone.
Another that made an appearance was a joke geared towards the singers role as Sheila in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married.

Jeremih and TY Dolla $ign are unquestionably the most popular people when it comes to doing hooks for people outside of Swae Lee. With these three doing your hook or ad-libs that track is practical guaranteed for success. These two have a couple of tracks together especially on TY Dolla last album ” Beach House 3” all club bangers. But these two and their favorite producer Hitmaka have made an album that’s very reminiscent of the 90’s R&B music that most of us grew up on.
This album meshes will and puts you in the mindset like you can sweet talk any girl you want. This album has 11 tracks with features coming from only French Montana and Chris Brown. The album starts off with a fumbled diamond with “The Light” that should have been the featured single during the summer. But the album as quite a few mood changing songs for those car rides with your girl like “FYT” (FT. French Montana) which is a flip of Biggies classic ” Fuck You Tonight” it’s a good reenactment, but it could have been a fresh classic instead of a modern R&B revamp of the orignal.
Then followed up by “Perfect Timing” which should be a stand out track with TY and Jeremih going back and forth. Jeremih holds down the hook “Hands on yo’body/ This perfect timing / Every time you get around me, this perfect timing”. This line right here can set the vibe during that car ride with the girl you’re in the process of shooting your shot with. The vibe continues with the Dru Hill flip of ” In My Bed” on “New Level” which you play when with a girl who is tied down by a bozo. Honesty this is the perfect song when you know your better than her boyfriend with TY and Jeremih flexing their chemistry in the beginning of the verse ” I’m trying’ to put you on that level/ You know you could do much better”. Then Jeremih takes it away with the smooth hook” You been so incomplete/ You been fell in too deep/ Wish i could read your mind”. Calm straight to the point song so she gets the messages.
If you’re looking for a vibe change it starts with “These Days” which is a song for when you level up on people. With Jeremih holding down the hook ” Things a little different these days/ Feel a little different these days/ Same old nigga, same old nigga/ I just move a little different these days”. We all had this kind of moment when that level up hits and its time to move different. Ty even gives you a line to flex on ole’ girl that didn’t want you before the glo up “I got money on my mind/ Another woman try to bang my line/ Told her don’t waste your time”. Being able to flex on people who doubted you is top 5 best feeling ever.
Toward the end of the album TY and Jeremih talk more about their insecurities and desires for love on “Lie 2 Me“, “Ride It“, and ‘Imitate” in terms of cohesives this is probably the best part of the album. The album as a whole leaves a lot to be desired which you wouldn’t expect from artist with a strong pen game. The track “Surrounded”( FT. Chris Brown) is wasteful unless you love Chris Brown. Both TY and Jeremih were very relaxed during the process of the album which was a detriment to it. They have chemistry together but it only shows on a few tracks rather than the whole project. This project would have served better for the summer time but for unknown reasons it was pushed back until now. If these artist weren’t so high profiled and certified this project would have been amazing, but because of who they are and their accolades you would expect more from them.
Americans broke imaginable barriers this week during the 2018 midterm elections.
From reaching a record number of women in the house, to electing the first Native American women and the first openly gay man as a governor, this is an accomplishment that will go down in history for our country.
Two democrats, Sharice Davids and Debb Haaland have become the first two Native American women to be elected to congress. This is not the only victory for Davids. The new Congresswoman is also the first open member of the LGBT community to be elected into congress.
The election of firsts does not stop there. Two newly elected congresswomen, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, have become the first Muslim women elected into Congress. In addition to Omar becoming one of the first Muslim Congresswoman, she will also be the first Somali-American member of Congress.
The night revealed a number of accomplishments for not only those elected but for the American people. Jared Polis, a Colorado Democrat Rep., will be the first openly gay man elected as governor.
The list continues.
In Texas voters have elected their first two Hispanic women to Congress. Their names are Veronica Escobar and Sylvia Garcia.
Safe to say that the 2018 midterm elections created a number of firsts for our country and will go down in history. The Democrats now have control of the house, where as the Republicans remain to have control over the Senate. Though this election outlined the state of divide our country is currently in, for many it proved to be a successful election.

Pop star Rihanna doesn’t want President Trump using her music to pump up the crowd at his rallies anymore.

Rihanna herself was not happy to learn about Trump’s choice of tunes. The singer replied to a tweet by the Washington Post’s Philip Rucker, saying her music wouldn’t be heard at the president’s “tragic” rallies “for much longer.”

Rihanna’s tweet comes after she endorsed progressive candidate Andrew Gillum in Florida’s gubernatorial race. The singer and beauty entrepreneur has also dabbled in ‘woke’ politics before, donning a t-shirt featuring Hillary Clinton’s face before the 2016 election, and joining the anti-Trump Women’s March in New York the day after his inauguration.
Trump uses a diverse collection of crowd-pleasing hits at his rallies, often to the artists’ chagrin. Last week, Pharrell Williams issued Trump a cease and desist letter after his infectious hit ‘Happy’ reverberated through a rally in Indiana – hours after a gunman massacred 11 worshipers at a Pittsburgh synagogue.
“There was nothing ‘happy’ about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday and no permission was granted for your use of this song for this purpose,” read the rapper-turned pop star’s legal letter.
Another Apple event was hosted October 30th and the company introduced new products once again changing the electronic game even more than it already has this year alone.

As if all of this wasn’t already appealing and a sure way to have you running to your nearest apple store to get yours now, the same chip also works well with augmented reality so playing video games will be both immersive and realistic. Along with the new iPad, the company has also previewed an Apple pencil and Smart Keyboard Folio to go along with the tablet, which perfectly pairs with the iPad, as it is able to be magnetically attached to the device. The pencil takes it a step further and can be charged while it is attached to the iPad. The new thinnest iPad ever is perfect for all of you with on-the-go lifestyle’s. The up to 10 hours of battery life will allow you to function throughout your full work day and more.

Apple has also announced the brand new release of the MacBook Air. If you thought the company couldn’t get any more technologically appealing, you were wrong. This new laptop not only includes Touch ID, it is good for the environment! Apple is calling it, the “greenest mac ever”, yes the new computer is made with 100 percent recycled aluminum. And here we thought we couldn’t fall any more in love with an inanimate object. This device will be available in silver, gold, and space gray and maintain all day battery throughout the day.
