Humble, Awareness & Heartbreaking those are the words that comes to mind with comes to OnlyJahmez. In a way he shows us his true colors and he lets us into his head where all of us feel like we’ve always been held captive by our own demons. It’s the only thing other than ourselves that gets in the way of truly getting what we want.
OnlyJahmez, a visionary who captures the struggle of his new ties to fame in his latest visual “Demons”. This music video features strong hidden meanings all coming to a question of Will he sell his soul, or will he keep battling his demons?
OnlyJahmez is not new to the scene when it comes to pushing out a message, go back and check out his previous visual “Thoughts”, here.
“In the “Demons” video, one scene grabs my attention most of all. It’s of him sitting down with his hands tied up in rope. Helping develop such strong imagery that it leaves a permanent imprint in my head. Pair that with lyrics stating, “I’m on track to reach this celling but for you I’ll give it up.” Helps inspire instant attraction to what the actual plot could be for the video.
OnlyJahmez is seen with a female interest, someone who in my opinion could be strong symbol in OnlyJahmez music. If I come from a more abstract perspective, I would say this song and visual can reference anyone close to OnlyJahmez’s life. Showing them how he has loyalty to how grounded he is willing to stay true to what he cares about most, the music.
New Jersey’s Drew the Recluse fuses hip-hop, alternative, and R&B into one sound through his music, especially on his soulful track, “Fade.” Founder of record label Black Suburbia Music Group, Drew the Recluse and his team of artists have worked to unite the rock and hip-hop scenes in Asbury Park, creating more performance opportunities and a community for talent in the area. Based in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Drew the Recluse cites Bruce Springsteen as one of his musical influences, as well as his neighborhood in the suburbs of New Jersey.
In Drew the Recluse’s powerful single, “Fade,” he details his feelings of loneliness, pain, and feeling stagnant in his life and friendships. The synth-based ballad starts with his sultry vocals and piano chords playing underneath. He sings lyrics, “There’s a light left on but ain’t nobody there/I’d give all I have to know somebody cared.”
In the chorus, his vocals explode, as he belts, “Are my tears just not enough to heal the lies?/ Cause my suffering is worse than if I die!/So I hold my breath and pray I live the night/Cause to fade away would not be worth the ride.” The chorus repeats as the beat drops and synths swell, with Drew the Recluse’s emotional vocals concluding the song, “Cause to fade away would not be worth the ride.”

After releasing an 18-second preview of his “Demons” music video on YouTube, OnlyJahmez will drop the full music video and single on August 13th at midnight. In the song and music video, OnlyJahmez’s breakup with his girlfriend triggers conversations and reflections not only about his past and his future self, but about his career as well. As he opens up to his girlfriend about their dying love, his “demons,” and his career, rapping “I’m on track to reach the ceiling but for you I give it up.” OnlyJahmez admits to his girlfriend, “I been knocking out these demons” and in the second verse, he belts, “I can’t give you glory no more,” ultimately ending their romantic relationship. Throughout the music video, OnlyJahmez and his girlfriend have a conversation, and as she continuously walks away from him, she becomes a distant memory at the end of the music video.
OnlyJahmez’s “Demons” echoes the sentiments of his previous confessional anthem, “Thoughts,” a moody, uptempo track that garnered approval from New York City’s popular radio station, Hot 97.1, and even caught the attention of rapper Lil Uzi Vert, as he added the single to his personal Spotify playlist. OnlyJahmez’s “Thoughts” music video, directed and shot by videographer WaveChange in Las Vegas, debuted on television channels MTV, BET Jams, and Music Choice. In the past, OnlyJahmez’s projects have earned acknowledgement from MTV, Hot 97.1, Power105.1, BET, MajorStage, and caught the attention of the late rapper, Juice WRLD.
A New Jersey native, OnlyJahmez has launched his headlining tour throughout the TriState area, entitled “OnlyJahmez & Friends” and has performed four sold-out shows to launch the tour. OnlyJahmez will be performing singles from his upcoming EP, scheduled to be released in October 2021. Visit onlyjahmez.com for tickets and information about his upcoming shows.
Mir Fontane has released his project, Melody Monster – a 14 track project with standout songs, “Made in Trauma” and “Call J. Cole.”
Mir Fontane is no stranger to representing New Jersey, saying, “Jersey’s lack of a musical scene pretty much helped me create something and the fact that we were back against the ropes and had to jump into somebody else’s space, it’s kinda like you’re the outsider,” in an interview with DJ Booth.
Leading the South Jersey music scene, Mir Fontane’s Melody Monster demonstrates his talent for crafting melodies and his storytelling skills. On his track, “Call J. Cole,” Mir Fontane raps over an old-school sample and classic drumbeat, with comedic punch lines like “Shorty just got a BBL, she on the stomach for weeks” and “Read man, dead man, spot you like a RED cam/Sellin’ jelly roll, cuz got caught up in that FED jam.”
Melody Monster uncovers Mir Fontane’s vulnerable side with his notable flow and nostalgic production, and is out all on streaming platforms now.

Today’s music comes with a lot of cadences that make the lines easily blurred. But sometimes you just need to get back into a classic 808s and loops, creating a simple story to capture the attention of many. Trenton’s own “Alamaj” is someone who will bring you back to the classics, reigning in with his hit single “Fire”. Already standing at 600,000 (and counting) streams on Spotify, it’s obvious that Alamaj is bringing the heat just in time for the last month of summer 2021.
I got to point out the beginning, puts me in a very “Hot N*gga” feel starting off with the smoke alarm. The beat itself is a head knocker, made by Ill-Omega creating a vibe that begins with a bang. Screaming “Let that mothafucka burn bitch!” making it known it’s not a drill, it’s time to get the party started.
I’m looking forward to see what else is in store for Alamaj this early 2000’s inspired club banger makes me excited for his next steps.
Below is the track, take a second and experience one the most acclaimed names coming out of New Jersey.
Artists Killa Kherk Cobain a.k.a. Unicorn and BandmanRill always represent New Jersey, and their distinctive hip-hop sound is well-known to New Jersey hip-hop lovers. Both have been consistent key players in the Jersey Club scene, with Killa Kherk Cobain releasing successful single, “Mexsicko City,” featuring DJ K-SHiZ, and BandmanRill releasing “Heartbroken,” which has gained over a million streams on YouTube. Now, both rappers follow up the success of their previous singles with their latest release, “Jack N Drill” produced by AceMula.
An upbeat dance track, “Jack N Drill” starts with horns blazing over the dance track, with the beat dropping in notable Jersey Club fashion – with booming 808s and fluttering high hats. As soon as the beat explodes, BandmanRill raps his verse, with memorable lines “Don’t hit my phone if it ain’t ’bout the funds,” with a strong flow and gritty lyrics. After his verse, Killa Kherk Cobain’s deep voice cuts through the track, as he proudly boasts that he’s “from Newark, New Jersey,” and “I scurt off in an SRTG/PTSD make me scream in my sleep.” The entire song brags about BandmanRill and Killa Kherk Cobain’s street credibility as the beat and horns blaze underneath. The video supplements the song perfectly, with dancers performing Jersey Club dances as BandmanRIll and Killa Kherk Cobain rap their lyrics.
